The Epic Race to Ski the World for a Lifetime Season Pass Begins Nov. 22, 2013
- The Epic Race challenges Epic Pass holders to ski and ride 26 iconic mountains in four countries, including the U.S. (Colorado, Utah, Lake Tahoe, Minnesota and Michigan), Switzerland, France and Austria

News of Vail Resorts’ Epic Race quickly spread across the skiing and snowboarding world, spurring much plotting, aspiring and fundraising. The Epic Race is a season-long competition to visit all 26 resorts spread across four countries that make up the Epic Pass. The reward: The first 10 participants to complete the adventure win a lifetime Epic Pass. The race officially begins Nov. 22, 2013.
Starting Nov. 1, 2013, contestants can find all the rules and register to Ski the World by visiting http://epicrace.epicpass.com. Each racer will need to ski or ride all 26 resorts on the Epic Pass (Vail, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge, Keystone, Arapahoe Basin and Eldora in Colorado; Canyons in Park City, Utah; Heavenly, Northstar and Kirkwood at Lake Tahoe; Afton Alps, Minnesota; Mt. Brighton, Michigan; Verbier, Switzerland; Arlberg, Austria – St. Anton, Lech, Zürs, St. Christoph and Stuben; and Les 3 Vallées, France – Courchevel, La Tania, Méribel, Brides-les-Bains, Les Menuires, Saint Martin de Belleville, Val Thorens and Orelle). Registration closes Nov. 17, 2013. Epic Racers will be asked to document and share their experience at each resort to be eligible to win. After all resorts have been visited, all content will be verified. Winners will be determined upon completion of the race and verification of compliance with the Official Rules.

The winners will need resolve, determination and the wherewithal to navigate numerous adventures around the world. But most of all, you’ll need an Epic Pass.”
To help Epic explorers on their journey, Vail Resorts has compiled this Top 10 list of things needed to enter the race:
- An Epic Pass (available at www.epicpass.com).
- A valid passport.
- A GoPro (or some other way to capture the three pieces of content required as proof of visitation).
- A Facebook and YouTube account.
- Lots of Facebook friends who can like the content and follow it at #EpicRace.
- An English-to-French-to-German dictionary.
- Someone to watch your dog for a month or two.
- A super-understanding spouse/significant other/loved one.
- A good boot bag (You can always rent skis but NEVER check your boots – this could be a race ender).
- Lots and lots of wax.
The Epic Pass features unlimited, unrestricted skiing and riding at Vail, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge, Keystone, Arapahoe Basin and Eldora in Colorado; Canyons in Park City, Utah; Heavenly, Northstar and Kirkwood at Lake Tahoe; Afton Alps in Minnesota and Mt.
