Breckenridge Peak 6 Trail Naming Contest Underway

“Awaken your sixth sense” and submit related suggestions in a chance to name the new trails on Peak 6.

BRECKENRIDGE, Colo. — Aug. 29, 2013 —Breckenridge Ski Resort recently announced the launch of a brand new Peak 6 trail naming contest, which is open to the public.

Through September 13, 2013, members of the public can submit their ideas for trail names for the new peak through an app accessed on the Breckenridge Facebook page. If the name is selected, it will  appear on the resort’s trail map and land a spot in Breck’s permanent history. In addition to this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, the winner will also receive their own replica trail sign with their winning trail name and two, 2-day lift tickets to experience Peak 6 during the 2013-2014 ski season.

“Awaken Your Sixth Sense”
Peak 6 is opening the door to a whole new realm with 543 acres of new terrain. Contest entries should relate to the new peak’s brand theme, “Awaken your sixth sense”, and use names that sum up what senses and feelings are woken from within when human limits are pushed. What inspires a person to explore beyond the horizon, to dream or to dare? Trail names that encompass that sense of being are more likely to be chosen. For official contest rules and policy, visit the www.Facebook.com/Breckenridge

About Peak 6
This season, Breckenridge will have one of its most exciting years ever, as the resort adds over 540 acres to its famous landscape via the Peak 6 area just north of Peak 7. Peak 6 will include 400 acres of lift-served terrain and 143 acres of hike-to terrain, representing a 23 percent increase in the resort’s skiable acres. This is one of the most notable ski area expansions in the past decade, and will feature high-alpine, intermediate bowl skiing – a rare find in North America.  The projected opening day for the Peak 6 lifts and terrain will be announced early during the winter season as construction comes to a conclusion and the snow begins to fly. Visit www.Breckenridge.com/Peak6 for the latest on the Peak 6 project.
