SpringFest Kicks Off this Weekend at Beaver Creek through April 6
Beaver Creek, Colo. March 12, 2013 –SpringFest at Beaver Creek kicks off this Saturday, March 16, offering families with kids of all ages a variety of fun entertainment in the afternoons through April 6. After soaking up the beautiful spring ski days at Beaver Creek, SpringFest swings into action providing scheduled activities for kids and teens. With St. Patrick’s Day celebrations, a “country fair” themed weekend, an Easter Egg Hunt and more, there is something for everyone in the family.
On Saturday and Sunday, March 16 and 17, the McTeggart Irish Dance Academy will perform their impressive Irish jigs in honor of St. Patrick’s Day. Don’t miss these champion dancers as they perform their high-energy dances to traditional Irish music in the Beaver Creek Plaza beginning at 3:30 p.m. both days.
There are activities in the village each day during SpringFest including Disco Skate Night on Mondays where you can rock those bell bottom pants and big hair while skating the night away to classic 70s tunes. Don’t miss a special free preview of Jason Bishop, Master Illusionist on the Plaza Stage at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, March 19th. Also on Monday, teens can partake in a twilight snowshoe and pizza party. Week two of spring festivities starts off with a weekend of “country fair” themed events. Saturday, March 23, features contests, the Family FunFest Carnival and a baton twirling performance from Colorado Twirls. The fun continues on Sunday with the amazing “Top Hogs” show, followed by a Lawn Chair Drill Team performance. The “Top Hogs” are trained hogs who have been featured on television shows from David Letterman to the Animal Planet. Don’t miss these local Colorado pigs as they perform tricks and stunts in the Beaver Creek Plaza on Sunday, March 24th at 3:30p.m.
