Beaver Creek Lights in the New Year with Torches, Glow Sticks and Fireworks
Beaver Creek, Colo., Dec. 26, 2012 –Beaver Creek celebrates in style to welcome in the New Year with a series of events hosted throughout the afternoon and evening on Dec. 31st including a concert, glow stick and Torchlight ski-down, fireworks display and Family Carnival to take families into 2013.

Guests will have the opportunity to participate in the glow stick ski-down and registration will start at 5:15 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 15 at the Beaver Creek Children’s Ski School, located at the base of the Centennial Express Lift. Starting at 6:15 p.m., watch skiers and boarders wind their way down the Hay Meadow trail in the dark, back to the base area. Then, shift your eyes to 1876 trail at 6:30 p.m. for the Torchlight Parade, where professional skiers and riders will ride to the top of the Centennial Express Lift and make their way down carrying a fire-lit torch in hand. One of Beaver Creek's favorite events, the glow stick ski-down on the Hay Meadow trail is set to music and concludes with a grand fireworks finale. Fireworks on the Plaza will conclude the day’s outdoor celebrations with the display kicking off at 6:45 p.m.
After fireworks, guests can head inside for the New Year’s Eve Family Carnival taking place in McCoy’s Café and Bar at Ford Hall from 8:00 p.m. – 1 a.m. With fun for people of all ages, the whole family can attend this event and spend the holiday together. Entertainment will include carnival and arcade games, pool and foosball, adult beverages and children’s “mocktails.”

Tickets for the New Year’s Eve Family Carnival are $30 for ages six through adult, five and under are free. Tickets will be sold exclusively through the Park Hyatt Hotel and can be ordered by phone (970) 827-6561, at the Hyatt Concierge Desk or at the door of the event.
