Breckenridge Ski Resort Opens New Terrain for Holiday Weekend

BRECKENRIDGE, Colo. — Dec. 20, 2012 —With over two feet of new snow falling in the past week, Breckenridge Ski Resortcontinues to open more terrain in time for the holiday season.  Breck opened Peak 7 to the public today, with over 120 skiable acres. The ski resort now has over 800 acres open to skiers and riders across Peaks 7, 8, and 9. In addition to Peak 7, Breck also opened the Freeway Terrain Park and the resort’s 22-foot SuperPipe to the public for the first time this season, giving guests the chance to ride the exact same features that starred in last weekend’s Dew Tour Mountain Championships.
 
T-Bar to Open on Friday
Peak 8’s T-Bar lift and an additional 230 acres of upper mountain terrain, including Horseshoe and Contest Bowls, will open Friday, weather dependant and as snow conditions permit. Starting tomorrow, base area lifts will start turning at 8:30 a.m. Breckenridge Ski Resort requires all skiers and riders to observe all posted signs and warnings. Closed trails may contain hazards due to limited natural snow coverage and snowmaking operations. Please keep off closed trails and out of closed areas for safety reasons.
