Additional Terrain Opens at Keystone Resort for Thanksgiving Holiday
KEYSTONE, Colo. — November 21, 2012 —With its powerful snowmaking system continuing to work its magic, Keystone Resort announced that 48 acres of additional terrain will open today, offering skiers and riders 170 acres to enjoy over the Thanksgiving Holiday. Keystone will provide top-to-bottom intermediate and beginner skiing and riding and an expanded intermediate terrain park in The Alley. The resort will also open its night skiing operations on Wednesday, November 21, providing top-to-bottom skiing from 8:30am until 8:00pm Wednesday through Saturday and until 6:00pm on Sunday. Keystone’s available terrain will be the largest offering available to snow enthusiasts in Summit County, Colorado.

Off the mountain, families will enjoy Keystone’s mountaintop snow tubing, including 80’s-themed Tubing on Wednesday night, and ice skating on the Dercum Square Ice Rink. The resort’s Kidtopia family programming will debut Wednesday and will include a Meet and Greet with Keystone’s Ski Patrol Avalanche Dogs, a weekly Riperoo parade with special s’more treats on Saturday, and Keystone’s house DJ at Dercum Square ice rink on Sunday. Families can also enjoy the new Welcome Winter Carnival on Saturday, November 24. This free event will feature face painters, balloon artists, carnival games, bounce houses and great live music from Chris Thompson and Coral Creek. Holiday magic will be visible throughout Keystone’s Villages with the annual Keystone aglow holiday light installation, beginning Thanksgiving Day.

With so much to do, time in the kitchen will be limited, so Keystone’s many dining outlets are prepared to do the cooking. Thanksgiving meals can be enjoyed at Bighorn Steakhouse, the Alpenglow Stube, Keystone Ranch Restaurant, Der Fondue Chessel, the Ski Tip Lodge or Black Bear Grill. For those looking for a little adventure with their Holiday meal, Keystone’s wagon ride dinners will be open for the season Saturday, November 17.

All of this Holiday fun can be enjoyed at great rates that include the newest family programming at Keystone: Kids Ski Free, plus up to 33% off lodging. All season, children 12 and under ski for free when staying two or more nights in a Keystone owned/operated lodging unit. This amazing deal is available on all weekends and Holidays throughout the winter, with no blackout dates or other restrictions.
