Keystone Resort Announces Additional Terrain Opening
KEYSTONE, Colo. — November 14, 2012 —Keystone Resort announced today that an additional 44 acres of skiable terrain will open beginning Friday, November 16, made possible by a weekend storm that dropped 6” of natural snow and brought in consistently cold temperatures that aided snowmaking efforts. Skiers and riders will enjoy a total of 98 acres heading into this weekend, with the addition of Schoolmarm, a beginner trail. Five trails, including a terrain park with more than 25 features, and five lifts will be open for the upcoming weekend at Keystone.
The resort’s powerful snowmaking system continues to work around the clock as weather conditions allow. Snowmaking efforts are currently concentrated on Keystone’s famed A51 Terrain Park, as well as beginner and intermediate terrain on Dercum Mountain. More terrain is expected to open for the Thanksgiving holiday, including the addition of the resort’s mountaintop tubing hill and night skiing operations, both scheduled for November 21 openings.
Keystone’s Thanksgiving celebration will include top-to-bottom skiing and riding, more than 100 acres of available terrain as well as the start of the resort’s Kidtopia family programming, the Keystone aglow holiday light installation, a Welcome Winter Family Carnival and the first Riperoo Parade of the season on Saturday, November 24. Great vacation deals are available through the Holiday weekend, including up to 33% off lodging and the resort’s newest family program, Kids Ski Free. All season, children 12 and under ski free when staying two or more nights in a Keystone owned/operated lodging unit. This amazing deal is available on all weekends and Holidays throughout the winter, with no blackout dates or other restrictions.
