Breck's Opening Week is Underway

BRECKENRIDGE, Colo. — Nov. 5, 2012- Winter Is Back and the momentum is building toward Breckenridge Ski Resort’s Opening Day! Breck opens for their 51stseason at 9:00am this Friday, November 9th, for skiing and riding on Peak 8. For up-to-date terrain information, visit www.breckenridge.com.

In preparation, Breck has already started a series of promotions designed to generate excitement leading up to Friday’s Opening Day, including: ?

FIND ULLR
Front Rangers, keep your eyes out: Breck has launched their "Find Ullr" promotion, in honor of this season, which marks the 50thanniversary of Breck’s "Ullr Fest" signature festival. Ullr, the mythical Norse God of Snow, and Breck local, is making appearances daily at signature landmarks and events in the Front Range each day of this week. The first fans that are able to find him each day will win prizes, including the chance to ride the first chair of the season with him. Clues are being posted to Ullr’s whereabouts daily via Breck’s social media outlets.

WAKE UP BRECK
Breck’s Opening Week celebrations continue this Thursday, Nov. 8, as Breck hosts the resort’s 10thannual "Wake Up Breck" promotion, giving out free coffee and exclusive commemorative Breck coffee mugs throughout the town of Breckenridge at local coffee shops. The giveaway begins at 7:00 a.m. and only continues while supplies last! Find the list of participating coffee shops at www.Breckenridge.com/Wake-Up-Breck

OPENING DAY FESTIVITIES
Guests are invited to head to Peak 8 early this Friday to celebrate Opening Day with a slew of activities planned. Kick start your day with a free sample of Breck’s new signature cinnamon rolls at 8:30 a.m. on the Ski Hill Grill Plaza, as well as an opportunity for a chance to win great Clicquot in Snow prizes, including bottles of Veuve Clicquot, which will be given away at 8:45 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. Ullr will ride the first chair of the season along with winners from the week-long "Find Ullr" promotion, and then lifts will open to the public at 9:00 a.m. Additional festivities will include a live broadcast from KSMT, TBar drink specials throughout the day, DJ DC spinning everybody’s favorite tunes, and a special tribute to honor Veterans as part of Veterans Weekend. The Gold Runner Coaster will also open, starting at 11 a.m.

2012-13 PARKING INFO
Gondola Parking Lots for the 2012/13 season will be $5 during the week (Mon-Thurs), $12 on weekends (Fri-Sun) and during Peak days; the Beaver Run Lot will be $15 daily and $20 on Peak days. Carpool and Save! Drive up all season long with four or more people in a vehicle for a $5 discount on parking at the Gondola Lots and Beaver Run Lot.
