Northstar California Resort Hiring More Than 1,200 Employees in Advance of Winter Season
Positions Now Open for Career Opportunities with Preeminent North Lake Tahoe Resort Operator

TRUCKEE, Calif. – Sept. 10, 2012 – Northstar California Resort has begun accepting applications and hiring for the more than 1,200 seasonal positions that will be available at the resort for the winter 2012-2013 season. The resort is in search of service-oriented, professional employees to fill a variety of full-time, part-time and holiday seasonal positions. Those interested in winter employment are invited to apply to work in departments including the Northstar Ski & Snowboard School, transportation, lift operations, food and beverage, ski patrol, retail operations, lodging, product sales and service and more. On average, the resort employs a total of approximately 1,900 seasonal and year-round employees during the winter season.

“For those candidates eager to secure a position at Northstar, now is the time to apply,” said Dick Sharp, human resources director at Northstar. “We expect to complete the lion’s share of our hiring in advance of our job fairs later this month and in mid-October, and encourage those looking for winter seasonal work not to wait. Review the list of open positions and apply now.”

Unlike previous years, the resort will not host traditional job fairs this season, rather the two job fair dates – Saturday, September 29 for the Ski & Snowboard School, and Saturday, October 13 for Resort-wide positions – will consist of large-scale, in-person interview days for those who applied in advance.

Benefits of working at Northstar can include a season pass valid at multiple Vail Resorts mountains, discounted dependent passes, discounts on food, beverage and retail items at the resort, complimentary and/or discounted lift tickets for friends and family, full benefits for full-time employees, 401K matching after 1,000 hours worked*, lodging discounts at other Vail Resorts properties*, access to ski and snowboard lessons, complimentary local area bus passes and more. Northstar is also known for hosting great employee events, as well as providing innovative training and incentive programs.

Applicants are encouraged to review available positions and apply now at www.jobs.vailresorts.com for a variety of positions both on and off the mountain. Not all positions require the ability to ski or snowboard. For those interested in attending the job fairs, applications must be completed online in advance.

* Offered to full-time employees working at least 750 hours.
