Breckenridge Ski Resort Announces Mountain Cleanup and Local Appreciation Day
BRECKENRIDGE, Colo., -  June 4, 2012 – Breckenridge Ski Resort and Vail Resorts Echo invites the public to the annual Mountain Cleanup Day and Local Appreciation Day on Thursday, June 14 at the Peak 8 Base area.
 
Cleanup volunteers should meet at 9 a.m. at the One Ski Hill Place, A RockResort, patio to pick up trash bags, directions to specific cleanup sites and sign waivers. Parking is available in the North Gondola Lot and buses will run to the base of Peak 8 from 8:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. Volunteers should bring water, sun block, sunglasses, hat, snacks, gloves, sturdy hiking boots, and layers to prepare for the unpredictable Colorado weather.
 
Volunteers will be treated to a complimentary barbeque from 11:30 a.m. -1 p.m. at the T-Bar at One Ski Hill Place, A RockResort, and will also receive a voucher good for one use/ride on the Alpine SuperSlide, GoldRunner Coaster, SuperBungee Trampoline, Mineshaft Maze, Rockpile Climbing Wall or Gemstone Panning; valid until Sept. 3, 2012.
 
Following Mountain Cleanup Day, Breckenridge Ski Resort invites the community to Local Appreciation Day from 2-5 p.m., to celebrate another successful skiing and riding season and the beginning the summer season. During that time, locals can enjoy unlimited riding on the Alpine SuperSlide, GoldRunner Coaster, Bungee Trampoline and rounds of SuperPutt. The resort asks guests to kindly bring a can of food or nonperishable food item for the Family and Intercultural Resource Center, FIRC, in return for admittance.
 
The Vail Resorts Echo program aims to protect the natural resources surrounding Breckenridge Ski Resort and help build a stronger community where our employees live and work. In Summit County, VR Echo has recycled over 314,000 lbs this past winter, which is equivalent to a full sized blue whale, as well as supports 45 local nonprofits annually.
