The rodeo, fully sanctioned by the sport’s governing body, the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA), will take place in Breckenridge every Saturday and Sunday from August 4th -September 2nd, 2012 in a specially-constructed arena in the Airport Road parking lot on the north side of town.

Each nightly rodeo will begin at 5:00 p.m. MST, will last approximately two hours, and the professional events will include Saddle Bronc, Bareback Riding, Bull Riding, Team Roping, Steer Wrestling, Tie-Down Roping, Barrel Racing, and 1-2 clown acts. There will also be kids’ events that are open to public participation such as Mutton Busting and Calf Scrambles.

Venue doors will open at 3:30 p.m. each day, and will feature a family-friendly festival atmosphere leading up to the start of the event, including an all you can eat BBQ Cowboy Dinner, cotton candy, snow cones, alcohol, retail vendors, rodeo clowns, mechanical bulls, live music and so much more. At 4:00 p.m. there will be a free behind the chutes tour provided by the rodeo clown.

“We are extremely excited to be able to bring the 2012 Breckenridge PRCA ProRodeo to town this summer,” said the event’s promoter, Brad Bays. “We have had a great groundswell support from the public letting us know that they are eager to see this new addition to Breck’s great lineup of summer activities, and we know we can offer a great family-friendly event that will help bring spectators to town and will fit in perfectly with the lineup of other great signature events that Breck is able to offer this summer.”

Tickets are expected to go on sale to the public June 1st, and will cost $20 for adults, $15 for children ages 7-15, and free for kids 6 & under. VIP tickets are also available for $40 each adult, $30 for children age 7-15, and children 6 and under are free. This will include exclusive private seating, private restroom facilities and a server. In addition, Breck Rodeo season tickets will also be for sale, priced at $80 for adults and $60 for children, and will include access for all 10 performances this summer (that a 60% savings).  Breck locals will be able to receive a $5 discount when they present a Breckenridge photo ID.
