Vail Mountain received 11 inches of snow last night and announced more terrain openings in Blue Sky Basin while Breckenridge received 8 inches of fresh powder and continues to open more expert terrain daily. At Beaver Creek, the official 5 a.m. snow report shoed six inches although skiers and riders reported finding nine inches by the time the lifts opened.

Keystone Snow Cat Skiing Now Open!
The 22nd International Snow Sculpture Championships is in full swing in downtown Breckenridge. Fifteen teams from 12 countries have descended on Breck to sculpt 12-foot-tall, 20-ton blocks of snow into works of art. Sculpting is underway and continues until 10 a.m. on Saturday. Sculptures will remain standing weather permitting until the night of Sunday, February 4, 2012 Competing countries include Australia, Canada, China, Finland, Germany, Greece, Latvia/Estonia, Mexico, Spain, and Switzerland, in addition to two US teams and a local Breckenridge team.
