All 25 Lifts, Grouse Mountain Trails and 70 Percent of Terrain Open This Weekend at Beaver Creek

Beaver Creek, Colo.—Dec. 22, 2011—All 25 of Beaver Creek’s lifts and nearly 70 percent of the area’s skiable terrain will be open Saturday, Dec. 24. Five inches of snow overnight, in addition to a very dedicated effort on behalf of Beaver Creek’s snowmakers and the mountain operations team means terrain will jump to 1,242 acres with 105 trails this weekend. Grouse Mountain will open for the season on Saturday including Raven Ridge, Ptarmigan, Screech Owl and Roughed Grouse trails. The resort also opened Harrier and Roughlock trails on Thursday.
 
The Haymaker Tubing Hill opened on Thursday offering two lanes of tubing action on a newly designed and contoured hill. Tubing is offered from 1 p.m. to dusk daily and reservations may be made by calling 970-754-5368.
 
The first annual Beaver Creek Loves Kids Winterfest celebration is underway now through Dec. 31, featuring daily afternoon activities and events in the Village. Bring the kids and don’t miss appearances from Santa and his elves, a Kids Winter Wonder parade, Disco Skate Nights, figure skating performances, an Animals of Winter presentation by the Denver Zoo, torchlight parade, fireworks and more. In addition to Winterfest, Beaver Creek Loves Kids will take place President’s Week Feb. 18-25, 2012, Spring Break March 10-31, 2012 and Easter week April 1-7, 2012.
