Huge Series of Events Planned for Breck 50th Anniversary Weekend, Dec. 16-18

BRECKENRIDGE, Colo. – Dec. 9, 2011– Breckenridge Ski Resort is making it a weekend to remember with a huge series of events planned to coincide with the resort’s 50th birthday weekend, Dec. 16-18, 2011.
Breck’s actual 50th birthday falls on Friday, Dec. 16, 50 years to the day since the resort was inaugurated back in 1961. A series of events will take place on the mountain, and will culminate with a special “Breck Birthday Bash”, presented by the Town of Breckenridge, which will involve a Ski Legends procession, free concert by Los Lobos, champagne toast, fireworks and more on Friday night.
The 2011 Winter Dew Tour also kicks off its national tour during Breck’s Birthday weekend, and the series of events both on and off the mountain are listed below!

4:45 p.m. Champagne toast and cupcakes outside the Breckenridge Theatre, 121 S. Ridge St. There will also be a special 50th Anniversary beer from Budweiser and free EpicMix photos & free beer if you wear your Vail Reorts season pass.
5:15 p.m. Fireworks display (visible from around town), followed by a Ski Legends procession to the FREE Los Lobos concert at the Riverwalk Center, 150 W. Adams Ave. (400 VIP tickets are available for free during the champagne toast on Ridge Street starting at 4:30pm, but everyone else will be welcome first come first serve when the doors open at 5:30pm. This will be a standing room show- no seats. No outside alcohol or pets allowed. )

Gondola Lots will be $5 during the week (Mon-Thurs) and $10 on weekends (Fri-Sun) and Holidays; Beaver Run will be $15 daily and $20 on Holidays. Carpool and Save! Drive up all season long with four or more people in your vehicle and receive a $5 discount on parking at the Gondola Lots, and Beaver Run Lot.
