Top-to-Bottom Skiing and Riding Now Offered at Northstar California™ Resort
Resort’s Successful Snowmaking Efforts, Paired with Natural Snowfall Elevate Skiing and Riding Experience
TRUCKEE, Calif. – Nov. 22, 2011 – The recent series of winter storms to the Lake Tahoe region, paired with cold temperatures, have allowed Northstar California Resort to put the efficiencies of its snowmaking system to work. As a result, the resort announced today it will offer top-to-bottom skiing and riding starting tomorrow, November 23. Resort guests will be able to ski and ride 2,280 vertical feet on 75 acres of terrain spread across 11 trails accessed by seven lifts, and the best snow surface conditions around the Lake.
“The commitment of our snowmaking team to provide a high quality snow surface, and the investments we’ve made over the past few years to improve the efficiency of our snowmaking system are evident,” said Bill Rock, chief operating officer at Northstar. “We’re thrilled to offer skiers and riders such a high quality product in time for the Thanksgiving holiday, with more snow and cold temperatures in the forecast.”
Northstar’s surface on open trails features snow depths ranging between 18-24 inches. The National Weather Service forecast calls for snow to resume in the Lake Tahoe region Wednesday, continuing into Thanksgiving Day.
Early season lift tickets are available for $85 for adults, $69 for teens (age 13-18) and seniors (age 65+), and $45 for children (age 5-12; under five ski for free). Those interested in skiing or riding all season long can turn in their lift ticket toward the purchase of a season pass. The Tahoe Value Season Pass is available for purchase starting at $389 for a limited time. Some restrictions apply, and other pass types are available. In addition, to receive the guaranteed lowest daily lift ticket rates, guests looking to save may purchase discounted lift tickets in advance online.
