Beaver Creek Resort Extends Season One Extra Week in April
Beaver Creek, Colo., Nov. 10, 2011 – Spring skiers and riders can give thanks this month as today Beaver Creek Resort announced that it is extending the 2011-2012 ski season by one week. The new closing date is set for Sunday, April 15, 2012.

After reexamining its closing date, resort officials determined that by extending the season, guests who visit during the Easter, the Semana Santa and the Semana Pasqua holidays will benefit by an extra week of skiing and riding at Beaver Creek. The original closing date of April 8 also would have been one of the resort’s earliest closing dates in recent history.

“In consideration of the April holiday period as well as typically great snow conditions during the second week of April, we wanted to provide our guests and their families with the opportunity to ski and snowboard one additional week this season,” said Doug Lovell, chief operating officer of Beaver Creek Resort. “By making this announcement before the season has started, it also allows us to work with our community partners to develop some additional programming and enticing vacation packages for Beaver Creek’s final week of the season.”

Guests who visit Beaver Creek April 8-15 can expect skiing and riding on the main mountain. The lift operations schedule for the final week will be announced later this winter. Details on lodging packages designed to drive visitation April 8-15, as well as resort and village programming and animation, also will be announced in the coming months.
