Ring in the New Year at Heavenly Mountain Resort with over 180 inches of season-to-date snowfall and the inaugural FREE, family-friendly New Year's Eve celebration in the Heavenly Village. The festivities start at 2 p.m. PST with a rail jam near the Gondola followed by a slate of activities from 6 - 9 p.m. PST: a snowboard simulator, an ice sled motion simulator, adventure film screenings; bands, ice skating and roaming performers. The evening climaxes at 9 p.m. PST (12 a.m. EST) when an illuminated Gondola car is "dropped" from the top of Heavenly's East Peak, and a fireworks show will end the night as the grand finale, welcoming 2011.
