Red Sky Golf Club Set to Open Friday, May 14

WOLCOTT, Colo.—May 12, 2010— Golf enthusiasts can return to the fairways at Red Sky Golf Club which opens for both members and guests on Friday, May 14 weather permitting. Red Sky Golf Club is home to two award-winning 18-hole courses that were designed by Greg Norman and Tom Fazio, respectively.
In the fall of 2009 both courses achieved designation as Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuaries through the Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary Program for Golf Courses, an Audubon International program. The Fazio Course and Norman Course are the 30th and 31st courses in Colorado and the 788th and 799th in the world to receive the honor.
Red Sky Golf Club also recently appointed short game specialist Larry Rinker as director of instruction for the Red Sky Golf Academy. Rinker is a 29-year PGA Tour Veteran Member and Quarter Century Member of the PGA of America and has become one of the most sought after short game coaches ranging from Tour professionals to high level collegiate and junior players. This world-class instructional facility is integrated into the design of the Tom Fazio course and features services for members and their guests as well as guests of Vail Resorts’ owned, managed or partner lodging properties.

Red Sky’s early season rates of $195 per round are effective from opening through June 3, and guests may make tee times by calling the Guest Clubhouse Golf Shop at (970) 754-8425. Stay and Play golf and lodging packages are available starting at $208 per person now through June 1 and $265 per person June 2 to Sept. 25, 2010. Rates are based upon double occupancy and additional restrictions may apply including some minimum night stay requirements.
