Despite having already won the Overall and super G World Cup titles, Vonn gave the final race her all in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany today and surpassed Bode Miller's record as the top American World Cup alpine racer of all time.
Vonn’s season is one for the record books with an Olympic Gold Medal in the Women’s Downhill, the first for an American Woman as well as a Bronze Medal in the super G. Vonn continued her success on the World Cup circuit by achieving her third overall World Cup Title in a row, the first U.S. woman to accomplish this feat and only the third woman ever to do it consecutively.
Vonn now boasts 33 World Cup wins, the most by any American including 11 World Cup wins this season, again the most by an American in a single season, and tied for second for any Woman in total number of wins in Downhill, super G, Super Combined Titles this season.
