Big Snow Creates Marvelous Conditions at Heavenly
Heavenly Mountain Resort, Calif./Nev. – February 24, 2010 – After taking an uncharacteristic break in mid-February, Old Man Winter has returned to Lake Tahoe in a big way, burying Heavenly Mountain Resort (www.skiheavenly.com) in eight to 10 inches of new snow overnight with another seven inches forecast today. With another powerful storm forecast for Friday, conditions at Lake Tahoe’s largest resort should be spectacular for the rest of the season.
Heavenly plans to operate all 29 lifts this weekend, providing access to all 4,800 acres of Heavenly’s epic terrain, including some of the most remarkable tree skiing on the planet.
Join an Adventure Session to tour Heavenly’s amazing tree skiing and riding. For $119, advanced skiers and snowboarders can spend a day sharing a top guide with an intimate group, allowing quick access to the best terrain and conditions on the mountain. Guests will be teamed with like-minded, similarly-skilled ski/ride enthusiasts who want to get the most out of their day, going places that they might not go themselves. Not only will participants receive lunch and preferential lift line access, but they'll pick up tips and technical information along the way.
The Western Weather Group predicts additional storm systems will continue throughout this week and possibly into this weekend bringing up to an additional two feet of snow by Saturday. Roadways are expected to be easily travelable this weekend and travel from Reno Tahoe International Airport will be convenient via the South Tahoe Express (www.southtahoeexpress.com).
