SUMMARY:    Heavenly Mountain Resort opened today for the 2009-10 winter season, kicking off the winter snowsports season in Lake Tahoe with 6-10” of new snow. Heavenly will operate for skiing and riding, weekends from 8:30 am to 4 pm, and weekdays from 9 am to 4 pm; Gondola sightseeing and on-mountain dining are also open.
 
                        Heavenly’s signature one-mile long cruiser, Orion’s run is open; as well as California Trail. Access is via the Heavenly Gondola, Tamarack Express and Dipper Express. The Heavenly Ski and Snowboard School is open and offering lessons through the Gondola location only. Heavenly season passes are on sale now for $369 at www.skiheavenly.com, refer-a-friend who purchases a Heavenly season pass and receive $20 in mountain money; the Epic season pass (unlimited skiing or riding at Vail, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge, Keystone and Heavenly) is on sale for $599 at www.epicpass.com, through November 22.
