VAIL, Colo. – April 6, 2009 – Vail Mountain will continue to operate more than 5,200 acres of skiable, lift-served terrain and all on-mountain dining facilities through Sunday, April 12. The three main base-area facilities – Vail Village, Lionshead and Golden Peak – will remain open through Sunday, April 19. Operating hours will remain the same. Lifts will operate on Vail’s front side from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Back Bowls will continue to close at 3:30 p.m. and Blue Sky Basin will close at 3 p.m.
Beginning April 13, Vail will offer more than 3,900 acres of skiable terrain accessed by the following lifts for the remainder of the season:

- Mountaintop Express (Chair 4);
- High Noon Lift (Chair 5);
- Riva Bahn Express (Chair 6);
- Born Free Express (Chair 8);

- Little Eagle (Chair 15);
- Vista Bahn Express (Chair 16);
- Sun Up Lift (Chair 17)
- Eagle Bahn Gondola (Lift 19);
- Tea Cup Express (Chair 36);
- Skyline Express (Chair 37);
- Pete’s Express (Chair 39)
The Eagle Bahn Gondola (Lift 19) will continue nighttime operations through Saturday, April 11. Guests are advised to check daily grooming reports on www.vail.com and posted daily across the mountain for most up-to-date information.
Skiers and snowboarders are reminded to abide by “Your Responsibility Code” and observe all posted closures on Vail Mountain. All on-mountain closures and schedule modifications are subject to change based on snow conditions.
On-Mountain Dining
Buffalo’s at the top of Mountaintop Express (Chair 4) will remain open through Saturday, April 18. The Marketplace at Eagle’s Nest, Look Ma’s at Mid Vail and the Express Lift at Mountain Plaza will remain open through Sunday, April 19. Vail Snowsports School and Ticket Offices
The Vail Village and Lionshead Adult Snowsports Schools, the Lookout at Eagles Nest, the Lionshead Children's Snowsports School and the Small World Nursery in Golden Peak will remain open through Sunday, April 19. The Golden Peak Adult and Children's Snowsports Center will remain open through Sunday, April 12.
Both the Vail Village and Lionshead ticket offices will remain open through Sunday, April 19. Daily lift ticket prices from April 13-19 are $79 for adults, $69 for seniors and $49 for children 12 and under.
Spring Back to Vail
The biggest end-of-season bash in the Rocky Mountains, Spring Back to Vail begins Monday, April 13 and continues throughout the week with huge concerts, fun in the sun and the 7th Annual World Pond Skimming Championships and free BBQ and DJ party in Golden Peak. Free Vail Village concerts include Chris Isaak on April 17 and Of a Revolution (O.A.R.) on April 19.
2009-2010 Epic Season Pass – Lock in Last Year’s Price Now
The Epic Season Pass (www.epicpass.com) returns for the 2009-2010 ski and snowboard season with a return to last year’s introductory pricing of $579 for adults and $279 for children, ages 5-12, for skiing and snowboarding at all five Vail Resorts – Vail, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge, Keystone and Heavenly – as well as at Arapahoe Basin. A $49 down payment now locks in last season’s pricing through April 9 for the 2009-2010 Epic Season Pass with the remainder due in the fall.
