Keystone Resort Showcases its Award-winning Cuisine at the New Winter Culinary Festival
The weekend-long event includes a grand tasting dinner, culinary classes and spectacular deals with the new Dine Out Keystone program
 
Keystone Resort presents the new Winter Culinary Festival March 6-8, a resort-wide, multi-day event showcasing Keystone’s award-winning restaurants accompanied by incredible lodging and dining values and culinary education programs.
The festival’s signature event, the Grand Tasting Lodge, features an evening of specialties from Keystone’s award-winning restaurants including the Keystone Ranch, Ski Tip Lodge, Alpenglow Stube, Bighorn Steakhouse and more. Guests will ride two gondolas to dine atop Keystone’s North Peak. At the Grand Tasting guests can sample small plates with highlights from all of Keystone’s award-winning restaurants. In support of Keystone and Vail Resorts’ commitment to the environment and Appetite for Life Program, chefs will be serving sustainable and organic ingredients in several dishes at this zero-waste event. Keystone Resort is also hosting various culinary education courses throughout the weekend. The schedule of classes and demonstrations is as follows:
 
Friday, March 6
  • Red Wine Tasting: The Ski Tip Lodge features unique red varietals and blends. Attending guests will receive a 15 percent off coupon for dinner at the Ski Tip, good anytime throughout the next year.
  • Martini Tasting: The Summit Seafood Company invites you to experience unique martini recipes from their master mixologist.
  • Winter Whites: Paisano’s restaurant presents a tasting of white wines with cheese accompaniment.
Saturday, March 7
  • Ice Carving Demo with Keystone Chef Steve Nguyen: Watch as Ice Carving Master Steve Nguyen transforms blocks of ice into sculptures with his various power tools on top of Keystone’s North Peak at the Outpost.
  • Culinary Trends: Colorado Mountain College and Keystone Culinary Institute present the latest trends in the culinary world in a classroom-style learning environment at the Keystone Lodge.
  • Margaritas and Tequilas: Parrot Eyes Restaurant hosts a tasting of top shelf hand crafted tequilas with discussion on their history, finished off with a margarita with your favorite.
  • A World Awaits: Wine Tasting: A sommelier opens guests’ palates to new experiences and guides them through a tasting of fine wines from around the world in the casual social atmosphere of the Tenderfoot Lounge at the Keystone Lodge.
Sunday, March 8
  • Chocolate Demo and Breakfast Class: Executive Pastry Chef Ned Archibald and 2004 Colorado Chef of the year, shares his talent during this Chocolate Demo Class. Guests will enjoy fresh baked pastries, breakfast breads, coffee and tea as Ned demonstrates how to make his renowned chocolate creations.
  • Champagne Brunch at the Alpenglow Stube: Guests head to the top of North Peak, exchange boots for warm, fuzzy slippers, and partake in a unique menu of Mimosas, soups, a selection of entrées and an array of magnificent desserts.

Keystone guests are also invited to take part in the first Dine Out Keystone program, a chance to experience area restaurants at exceptional prices. Nearly every dining establishment is participating. Special offers include the Chef’s Nightly Creation, a three course dinner, at the Ski Tip Lodge for $52.80. The Keystone Ranch is offering a four course dinner for $52.80. Dinner Sleigh Rides will be 15 percent off all weekend. Other participating restaurants include the Bighorn Steakhouse, Summit Seafood Company, Paisano’s, Parrot Eyes, Kickapoo Tavern, and more.
