BRECKENRIDGE, Colo. — Nov. 21, 2008 — One of the most popular ski and snowboard resorts in North America, Breckenridge Resort, Colo., is unveiling a new base village area this winter that features luxurious ski-in, ski-out accommodations and skier services. Crystal Peak Lodge, now open, is the centerpiece of Breckenridge Ski Resort’s new Peak 7 base village, which will have full skier services up and running by the Thanksgiving holiday, including a ski and ride school product sales, a rental and retail shop, and lift ticket services.
The lodge and the new base village buildings are located steps from both the high-speed, six-passenger Independence SuperChair and the BreckConnect gondola, providing quick access to both the idyllic, rolling trails of the mountain’s famed Peak 7 terrain and the historic character and vibrancy of the town’s Main Street.
To celebrate the lodge’s opening, Crystal Peak Lodge and Vail Resorts Development Company will make a $10,000 donation today to The Summit Foundation to demonstrate Vail Resorts’ continued commitment to maintaining the unique qualities that define this special town. The Summit Foundation is dedicated to improving the quality of life for residents and guests of Summit County by supporting nonprofit organizations in the Breckenridge community that foster art and culture, health and human services, education, environment, scholarships, and sports and recreation.
