Senator Udall Visits Vail for a Sneak Preview of the New Summer Activities at Adventure Ridge Today

Today Colorado Sen. Mark Udall visited Vail Mountain, the largest ski resort in the United States, for a sneak preview of the new summer activities at Adventure Ridge, including a four-line 1,200-foot zip line, and two ropes challenge courses. These activities will open to the public on Saturday, Aug. 10.
Vail submitted the proposal to expand Adventure Ridge in April 2012 following the passing of the Ski Area Recreational Opportunity Enhancement Act which was sponsored by Udall and signed into law in Nov. 2011. The expansion is the first step towards more resource-based recreation, or activities that are appropriate for the surrounding environment, as outlined in the new law. The new activities are also a small-scale example of some of the things proposed in the Epic Discovery plan, anticipated for summer 2015 at Vail Mountain, pending U.S. Forest Service approval.
