Davy Ratchford Named Director of Sales and Marketing for Vail Mountain
VAIL, Colo. – Jan. 17, 2013 – Vail Mountain, the largest ski resort in the United States, announced today the appointment of Davy Ratchford as its new director of sales and marketing. Ratchford will assume responsibility for the development and management of all brand marketing and sales efforts for the resort, will be based in Vail, and will report directly to Ally Dodge, vice president of resort marketing for Vail Resorts and indirectly to Chris Jarnot, senior vice president and chief operating officer of Vail Mountain. Ratchford will begin transitioning into his new position immediately.
Most recently, Ratchford was director and marketing at Northstar California, one of Vail Resorts three Lake Tahoe mountain resorts. Since joining in May 2011, he has been instrumental in the continued, successful roll-out of Northstar California’s new brand positioning.

Previously Ratchford worked in Major League Soccer with Real Salt Lake, Rio Tinto Stadium and ESPN 700 Radio in Salt Lake City, UT, where he served as director of marketing since 2007. He was responsible for creating and overseeing the traditional and interactive marketing campaigns, advertising, public relations and community relations efforts for the organization. Prior to working for Real Salt Lake, Ratchford was an account manager at Richter 7 Advertising Agency where he was responsible for creating and implementing marketing and advertising campaigns for a variety of consumer based companies.
As an active consultant and teacher, he specializes in branding, advertising, employee development, organizational design and public relations. A passionate skier, Ratchford was born and raised in Dublin, Ireland and holds a bachelor’s in public relations and marketing from the University of Utah. He will relocate to the Vail Valley with his wife and four children.
