World-Class Big Mountain Enduro Racing Returns to Keystone Resort July 12-13
KEYSTONE, Colo. — July 8, 2014 — For a weekend of high-octane adventure, head to Keystone Resort July 12-13 for the Big Mountain Enduro mountain bike competition and watch world-class bikers participate in an epic trail ride that tests endurance, technical skills and guts while also enjoying a resort bustling with adventurous activities. Part of the 2014 North American Enduro Tour, the stop at Keystone will showcase two days of physically enduring cross-country riding and technical downhill mountain bike racing across the resort’s infamous mountain bike park. Designed to bring together the continent’s best mountain bike athletes with a multi-day, multi-stage tour that tests not only the physically fit mountain bike athlete, but also the technically skilled, the Tour aims to crown the best all-around mountain bike athlete.

At Keystone, the stop will consist of both high altitude grueling single track and technical downhill mountain bike racing featuring intense drops, rock gardens and steep terrain that will test both the technical side of a mountain bike racer as well as their pure strength and endurance. Beginning at 10 a.m. both days, spectators can not only enjoy watching the jaw-dropping action, but can also participate in a festive vendor village atmosphere and live music with DJ DC.

For those who want to enjoy viewing the weekend’s events but also wish to partake in a little adventure of their own, Keystone offers a range of activities for any style, including mountain-top yoga with breathtaking views, two-championship golf courses, a recreation path for road biking, running or walking, stand up paddle boarding on the resort’s five-acre lake, après decks with a view and dining options that are both nutritious and indulgent. The Keystone Bike Park will be closed during the competition, but open to the public 5 p.m.-7 p.m. both Saturday and Sunday of the race weekend. Non-competition riders can enjoy the park’s 100 miles of singletrack across 55 trails with 2,360 feet of vertical drop this weekend as well as throughout the rest of the summer until the resort’s closing bike park date of September 14.

Looking for a great place to stay while enjoying a weekend of non-stop mountain biking action as well as adventurous activities, the “Choose Your Own Adventure” package grants guests the ability to choose from a wide-range of lodging options while saving up to 36% off. Plus, the package includes a selection of à la carte activity options perfect for creating the ultimate adventure weekend in the mountains.
