Opening Day and Cookie Competition – Nov. 21, 2012
Celebrate opening day at Beaver Creek and round out the day before Thanksgiving by munching on warm chocolate chip cookies. The eighth annual Beaver Creek Chocolate Chip Cookie Competition takes place opening day of the 2012-2013 winter season, where the top recipe will be selected as the official cookie of Beaver Creek. Five finalists chosen from a number of fall entries bake and serve 1,000 cookies each on Nov. 21. Hungry skiers and riders vote and the top cookie recipe is designated as the official Cookie Time recipe for the season. www.beavercreek.com.
 
HolidayTree Lighting and Gingerbread House Competition- Nov. 23, 2012
Tradition holds strong in Beaver Creek as the 32st annual Holiday Tree Lighting in the Village signifies the kickoff of another great ski season as well as the start of the holiday season at Beaver Creek. For generations families, including President Ford and his own family, have participated in the Tree Lighting which includes a fireworks display along with a holiday poetry contest, a visit by Santa on a zamboni and in recent years, the Gingerbread House Competition which showcases amazing pieces of gingerbread art forms by local chefs. The Gingerbread Competition entries are auctioned and all proceeds support Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA), a local organization serving children in Eagle, Summit, Lake and Clear Creek counties.

Birds of Prey World Cup – Nov. 30 – Dec. 2, 2012
In December 2011 the U.S. Ski Team took full advantage of the home field and produced four podiums in what turned out to be two weeks of racing on the famed Birds of Prey course. Beaver Creek’s incredible early season snow conditions earned three additional races, termed The Sequel, which provided hometown hero Lindsey Vonn with her first victory on U.S. soil She went on to win the coveted Women’s Overall World Cup along with several other discipline globes. Ted Ligety produced two podiums in GS, including a victory, along with Bode Miller’s return to victory in the Downhill. Cheer them on when racing action returns Nov. 30- Dec. 2, 2012. Every race counts leading up to the 2015 World Alpine Championships being held at Beaver Creek/ Vail, and the U.S. men’s alpine team is hunting for gold.
 
Beaver Creek Loves Kids and 2st Annual Winterfest – Dec. 21-31, 2012; Prezfest Feb. 15-18, 2013; Springfest March 16- April 6, 2013
Beaver Creek Resort presents the 2nd annual Winterfest celebration this holiday season as part of the popular family program, Beaver Creek Loves Kids. Winterfest is a grand celebration of all that is magical about the holidays and winter in the mountains. The event features theatrical elements and decoration, interactive family events and activities that are designed to animate Beaver Creek Village and bring the winter and holiday spirit to life. EpicMix Scavenger Hunt Jan. 5, 2013
Beaver Creek’s EpicMix Scavenger Hunt is a one-of-a-kind mountain event that combines elements of a traditional scavenger hunt with the power of EpicMix for a fun, interactive experience! The concept is simple: solve riddles to unlock themed EpicMix virtual pins in scattered locations throughout the mountain. Each pin has a point value assigned to it, and the top three participants who have accumulated the most points at the end of the event will win some great prizes. This great family event offers an adventurous day on the slopes following the busy holiday season.  
 
Beaver Creek Food & Wine Weekend Jan. 24-27, 2013
The second annual Beaver Creek Food & Wine Weekend returns Jan. 24-27, 2013, featuring a not-to-be-missed three-day winter culinary celebration on the slopes. For 2013 Chef’s John BeshAnthony GiglioTim LoveAlex SeidelGail Simmons and Sam Talbot will bring their extraordinary talents to Beaver Creek to produce a palate-pleasing culinary extravaganza featuring casual, yet interactive and fun events from après-ski to First Tracks on the slopes to exclusive dinners with meticulously prepared menus. Talons Challenge – March 2, 2013
Beaver Creek’s 10th annual signature Talon’s Challenge event will be held March 2, 2013. Talons Challenge tackles nearly 24,000 vertical and showcases the mountain’s toughest 13 black and double-black diamond runs in one day. Participants return year after year and come from all over to earn a spot on the electronic wall of fame at Red Tail Camp. Following the competition, join the camaraderie at après party at Red Tail Camp.
