Winter Dew Tour returns to Breckenridge Ski Resort for the first stop of the 2010-11 season, Dec. 16-19
Burr Ridge, Ill. – July 19, 2010 – The Winter Dew Tour, the world’s premier season-long winter action sports tour, today announced that they will open the season at Breckenridge Ski Resort in Breckenridge, Colo. for the third consecutive year. The event will take place December 16-19, 2010 and will feature competitions with the top winter athletes in freeskiing (slopestyle and superpipe) and snowboarding (slopestyle and superpipe). 

“The Breckenridge Ski Resort and the town of Breckenridge are proud to host the first stop of the 2010-11 Winter Dew Tour since its inception three years ago,” said Pat Campbell, Chief Operating Officer at Breckenridge Ski Resort. “Breckenridge has proven to be the perfect atmosphere to kick off the Winter Dew Tour season, and we look forward hosting the best winter action sport athletes on our world-renowned mountain.”

Boasting the largest media platform in all of winter action sports, all three stops of the Winter Dew Tour will be televised Live on NBC with additional broadcasts on USA Network, MTV2 and Universal HD. In addition, it’s simulcast on Verizon V CAST and around the world on Eurosport 2 and Fox Sports Australia.

Entering its third season, the top athletes in the world will take part in the 2010-11 Winter Dew Tour, all competing for the highly coveted Dew Cup that will be awarded at the Toyota Championship at Snowbasin Resort in Ogden, Utah. The 2009-10 Dew Cup champions include Andreas Hatveit (Freeski Slopestyle), Jossi Wells (Freeski Superpipe), Jamie Anderson (Women’s Snowboard Slopestyle), Sage Kotsenburg (Men’s Snowboard Slopestyle), Kaitlyn Farrington (Women’s Snowboard Superpipe), JJ Thomas (Men’s Snowboard Superpipe).

Winter Dew Tour
The Winter Dew Tour consists of three major, multi-sport events spanning across the country, with a cumulative points system, and a $1.5 million competitive purse.  Each event features snowboard (superpipe and slopestyle) and freeskiing (superpipe and slopestyle).  At season’s end, the overall point’s leaders are crowned year-end champions and awarded the prestigious Dew Cup. As part of an Alli property, key lifestyle elements compliment the competitions at each Tour event including the Festival Village, specialty competitions, and live cutting edge music. The Winter Dew Tour is broadcast live on NBC Sports with additional competition and lifestyle broadcasts on MTV, MTV2 and USA.  The Winter Dew Tour is also distributed on Fuel TV, Universal HD, and internationally on Eurosport, Fox Australia and Extreme Channel.
