Afton Alps announced today that passes for the 2017-2018 season to the Twin Cities’ premier ski and snowboard area are on sale now, including the option for unlimited access locally and out West. Vail Resorts to Acquire Stowe Mountain Resort in Stowe, Vermont

Vail Resorts, Inc. (NYSE: MTN) today announced that on Feb. 17, 2017, it entered an agreement to acquire Stowe Mountain Resort from Mt. Mansfield Company, Inc. (MMC), a wholly owned subsidiary of American International Group, Inc. (AIG), for a purchase price of $50 million, subject to certain adjustments.

Mt. Brighton Teams up with ChadTough Foundation for Gates for Good Ski and Snowboard Race on Saturday, Feb. 4

Mt. Brighton will host the inaugural Gates for Good ski and snowboard race Saturday, Feb. 4 from 9 a.m. to noon , which invites skiers and snowboarders to turn a day on the slopes into benefiting the ChadTough Foundation. ChadTough supports research and raises awareness for pediatric brain tumors. The Saline, Michigan-based foundation is named for Chad Carr, grandson of University of Michigan football coach emeritus, Lloyd Carr.

As Much as Six Feet of New Snow Delivered in the Last Week to Top Ski Resorts Across the Western United States

The New Year has resolved to deliver massive amounts of snow across ski resorts in the western United States, with as much as six feet falling in the last week. A heavy band of snow is expected to continue falling today across the mountains throughout the day, including Colorado’s Vail Mountain, Beaver Creek Resort, Breckenridge and Keystone; Utah’s Park City Mountain; and the Lake Tahoe Region’s Heavenly Mountain Resort, Northstar California and Kirkwood Mountain Resort.
