Women’s-Specific Ski Fest Returns to Vail in December

VAIL, Colo. – Sept. 21, 2016 – Inspired by the Norse goddess of winter, Vail Mountain will host the second annual Skadi Fest, a two-day ski experience focused around women. From December 14-16, 2016, female skiers will be treated to customized on-mountain guided experiences with female instructors, evening VIP events, and female-specific ski equipment demos. United by a passion for skiing and the outdoors, Skadi Fest is an event designed by women for women and is offered for any level of skier.

“Skadi Fest creates a welcoming environment for women to renew and enrich their passion for snowsports,” said Supervisor of Ski School Inge Franberg. “This event began last year as a reflection of the expanded female-specific offerings we introduced company-wide. It is a testament to snowsports and its female participants that the event returns this season.”

Skadi, pronounced ‘Scotty,’ means the Norse goddess of winter. The event in December is reflective of the overall expanded female-specific offerings Vail Resorts provides. From the ski film viewing of, “Between”, a Red Bull Media House production to wine and cheese pairings and yoga, Skadi Fest is about the full experience, both on- and off-mountain. Skadi Vail is sponsored by Vail Mountain, Vail Sports and Outdoor Divas.
