The Great Race 2.0, Presented by Red Bull, Brings a New Obstacle Course Event to the Slopes during Spring Back to Vail
  • The Great Race 2.0 will take place from 1 to 3 p.m. in Golden Peak on Sunday, April 13
  • Free concert from Lez Zeppelin beginning at 3 p.m.
VAIL, Colo. – April 8, 2014 – The Great Race 2.0, presented by Red Bull, takes over Golden Peak on Sunday, April 13 during the annual, end-of-season Spring Back to Vail celebration. In addition to free live concerts and the World Pond Skimming Championships that take place during Spring Back to Vail, The Great Race 2.0 will bring fun and friendly competition to the slopes along with a bonus afternoon of free live music from the all-female tribute act, Lez Zeppelin.
 
The Great Race 2.0 features an on-snow adventure obstacle course for teams of two, including a snowblade cross course, three-legged race, tire run and more. The final portion of the race will include a Plinko course, providing competitors the opportunity to earn bonus time deductions. The winners of the race will be determined by overall time and bonus points from the Plinko course. Costumes are also strongly encouraged and will factor into each team’s bonus score.
 
The Great Race 2.0 takes place from 1 to 3 p.m. in Golden Peak. Competitors and spectators can enjoy live DJ music in Golden Peak from 12 to 3 p.m. followed by a live concert from the legendary lady rockers Lez Zeppelin from 3 to 5 p.m. The event is open to up to 35 teams of two and participants can bring their own snowblades; a limited number of snowblades may be available to borrow.
 
Registration is just $20 per team and is available on Saturday, April 12 from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in Mountain Plaza; and on Sunday, April 13 from 10 a.m. to noon in Mountain Plaza and noon to 1 p.m. in Golden Peak.

  • STS9 with opener The Polish Ambassador presented by Bud Light at Ford Park. Venue opens at 6 p.m.; music begins at 6:30 p.m.
Sunday, April 13
  • Spring Back to Vail Expo Village at Mountain Plaza at the base of Gondola One; 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
  • The Great Race 2.0 presented by Red Bull in Golden Peak; 1 to 3 p.m.
  • Lez Zeppelin at Golden Peak; 3 to 5 p.m.
Sunday, April 20
  • World Pond Skimming Championships presented by Red Bull beginning at 3 p.m.
  • Steel Pulse with opener Bonfire Dub at Solaris. Venue opens at 4 p.m.; music begins at 4:30 p.m.
