  • Ten Vail Resorts Ski and Snowboard Instructors Named to 2016-2020 PSIA-AASI Team
VAIL, Colo. – Dec. 8, 2016 – Whether it’s your first time on the slopes or you’re a seasoned skier or snowboarder, lessons with professionals will take your abilities to the next level. Guests can learn from and expand their abilities while working with the best in the business at Vail Resorts.

After a grueling four-day competitive selection process, the Professional Ski Instructors of America and the American Association of Snowboard Instructors (PSIA-AASI) selected 30 members to represent the organization at the national level. Ten members named to the team are Vail Resorts instructors.

Guests who visit a Vail Resorts property have the opportunity to learn from the top ski and snowboard instructors in the country.

“It’s an incredible accomplishment for the instructors named to the PSIA-AASI Team,” said Bobby Murphy, vice president of the Vail Ski & Snowboard School. “Our guests enrolling in ski and snowboard school will receive one-of-a-kind instruction that will advance their abilities on the slopes.”

The PSIA-AASI Teams are made up of 30 men and women selected from among the best instructors in the country. They represent the full breadth of the ski and snowboard disciplines: adaptive, alpine, alpine freestyle, cross country, telemark, and snowboard.

The following Vail Resorts instructors were named to the 2016-2020 PSIA-AASI Team:
  • Alpine:
    • Michael Rogan (Alpine Team Coach) – Heavenly Instructor / Trainer

The PSIA-AASI Teams are formed every four years following a rigorous selection process that enables PSIA-AASI to select the nation’s best instructors to represent the association at the highest level. The outcome of the 2016 selection is a team that embodies three attributes outlined by the Teams Taskforce: Inspirational educators, Lifelong learners and Inspirational athletes.

Once chosen, team members are responsible for promoting, supporting and assisting with the development of PSIA-AASI education programs and activities and set the standard for U.S. snowsports instruction.
