Vail Mountain Moves to Daily Summer Operations and Opens More Hiking and Biking Trails on Friday, June 13
  • Snow tubing continues for another weekend at Adventure Ridge.
  • New kids low ropes course and zip line to open at Adventure Ridge mid-summer
Vail Mountain, one of the largest ski resorts in the world, opens for daily summer operations and activities – including scenic rides and bike hauls on Gondola One and the Eagle Bahn Gondola – on Friday, June 13 beginning at 9 a.m. Daily operations continue through Monday, Sept. 1.

The Berry Picker trail opens on Friday offering hiking from both the Vail Village and Lionshead base areas up to Adventure Ridge. Open trails for mountain biking include the Village Trail, Liondown, Gitalong Road, Onza Alley, Fireweed, and Big Mamba. Additional hiking trails and mountain biking trails will be offered as soon as conditions permit.

Guests can also experience Vail’s newest activities at Adventure Ridge, including a four-line 1,200-foot long zip line and two aerial challenge courses, which were completed in August 2013. The zip-line, located west of the current tubing hill lift and accessed by the Adventure Skyway (#28), offers guests a high-flying rush as they zip through the sky amongst magnificent mountain views of the Gore Range. For more of a challenge, guests can conquer one of two new aerial ropes challenge courses each featuring three levels of elements to maneuver including ladders, rope bridges, swinging logs, cargo nets and more, all within the safety of a harness.

Later this summer, guests can look forward to two more new activities at Adventure Ridge geared towards younger guests, including a single-line, 200-foot-long kids zip line and beginner kids low ropes course.

Morning and afternoon tours are offered daily throughout the summer.

In addition, Adventure Ridge also offers signature activities including the Top of the Mountain Tours, horseback tours, bungee trampolines, a climbing wall as well as pony rides and Dino Dig for Vail’s youngest visitors.
