STOWE, Vermont. – January 30, 2019 – Vail Resorts EpicPromise is pleased to announce the recipients of the inaugural 2019 community grants cycle. 10 local non-profit organizations received more than $35,000 in cash and in-kind product support aimed at supporting the issues that matter most in and around the Stowe region. Across the company, Vail Resorts will give $11.4 million in support to more than 250 community non-profits over the upcoming year.

Bobby Murphy, Vice President and GM at Stowe Mountain Resort, stated that, “Stowe Mountain Resort is incredibly proud to help support the health and resilience of the Stowe and Lamoille County community through Vail Resorts EpicPromise. From sending kids to camp to maintaining open spaces, and helping with scholarships for a variety of youth programs, these receiving organizations are the backbone of our community and continue to make Stowe a place where we can all live, work, and play. We are honored to partner with each and everyone one of them.”

For the first time, Stowe Mountain Resort employees were given a chance to boost an organization’s grant through the EpicPromise Impact Award – decided through a staff vote. The employees chose the Green Mountain Club, a non-profit dedicated to protecting and maintaining the Long Trail System and fostering the stewardship of Vermont’s hiking trails and mountains. Green Mountain Club will receive an extra $2,000 on top of their grant due to this employee-selected award.

“The Green Mountain Club is honored to receive a grant from EpicPromise and be voted by staff at Stowe Mountain Resorts to receive the‘Epic Impact Award.’ Support from EpicPromise will help fund our Backcountry Caretaker Program and our efforts to educate the public and care for the environment at Sterling Pond. We work hard to maintain and protect the Long Trail System and are grateful to know that trails we manage play a meaningful part in the lives of Stowe employees. We want to thank Stowe Mountain Resort and EpicPromise for its commitment to supporting non-profits working to enhance and better our communities,” said Alicia DiCocco, Director of Development for Green Mountain Club.
