Lake Tahoe Skiers and Snowboarders Have Access to Heavenly Mountain Resort Beginning Nov. 17

South Lake Tahoe/Truckee, Calif. - Nov. 14, 2017 – Heavenly Mountain Resort will open for the 2017-2018 season on Friday, Nov. 17, and it’s not too late for skiers and snowboarders to get their Epic Pass, which are still available until Nov. 19. Epic passholders have access to Heavenly Mountain, Breckenridge Ski Resort, Keystone Resort and Whistler Blackcomb for early season skiing and riding. 

Kirkwood Mountain Resort will open on Nov. 22, followed by Northstar California Resort on Thanksgiving Day. The Village at Northstar, featuring high-end winter boutiques and new shops like lululemon, continues to open Friday, Nov. 17. Restaurants, including the new Yamakai Fish and Sushi Co. and Los Arcos Mexican cuisine, are set to open Friday as well.

We’re excited to begin another terrific ski season.”

Just a 45-minute drive from Lake Tahoe, the Reno-Tahoe International Airport has the following nonstop flights to Lake Tahoe, Denver and Whistler ski markets:

  • San Francisco to Vancouver, Canada, Air Canada ($388 round trip, rate sampled Dec. 7)
  • Oakland to Reno-Tahoe, Southwest Airlines ($63 one way, rate sampled Dec. 19)
  • San Jose to Reno-Tahoe, Southwest and Alaska Airlines ($54-59 one way, rate sampled Dec. 19)
  • Orange County to Reno-Tahoe, Alaska Airlines ($65 one way, rate sampled Dec. 19)
  • Long Beach to Reno-Tahoe, JetBlue Airlines ($39 one way, rate sampled Dec. 19)
  • Reno-Tahoe to Denver, Frontier Airlines ($37 one way, rate sampled Dec. 19)

Epic Passes Available through Sunday, Nov. 19
Sunday, Nov. 19 marks the final day to purchase a 2017-2018 Epic Pass, saving more than 40 percent compared to lift ticket window prices. Ski unlimited and unrestricted from opening day to closing day for only $899. The Epic Pass offers unlimited, unrestricted skiing and pays for itself in just over four days.
