Northstar California Resort today announced it will implement an updated strategic parking management plan. The overall plan will preserve and maximize the resort’s parking capacity while expediting incoming traffic and reducing congestion on Northstar Drive, ultimately improving the guest experience.

To celebrate Vail Resort’s 10th year of EpicPromise Week, more than 300 employees combined volunteered hundreds of hours with local community programs focused on youth, education and the environment. After record-breaking snowfall throughout the Lake Tahoe region in February, the Best of Tahoe Resorts, including Heavenly Mountain Resort, Northstar California Resort, and Kirkwood Mountain Resort announced plans today to extend the 2018-19 ski and snowboard season. Plans may change based on weather, conditions or US Forest Service approval.

Emma, the world’s first digital mountain assistant, announced today that she is now available to guide guests at nine Vail Resort properties, including Vail, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge and Keystone in Colorado; Park City in Utah; Whistler Blackcomb in Canada; and Heavenly, Northstar and Kirkwood in Tahoe. Today, Vail Resorts announced that Chief Executive Officer Rob Katz and his wife, Elana Amsterdam, have made significant contributions totaling more than $2 million to support emotional wellness programs in nearly every mountain resort community in which Vail Resorts operates.

The Summit Smokehouse at Northstar California re-opens Dec. 14, 2018, weather permitting, after being renovated physically and conceptually to focus on a creative menu with simple, hand-crafted ingredients. The concept extends beyond the kitchen into the beverage station, which most notably hosts no single-use cups in alignment with the company’s Commitment to Zero.
