Mount Sunapee Annual Fall Festival Oct. 12 & 13

NEWBURY, N.H. – October 2, 2019 – Mount Sunapee Resort has celebrated the changing of the seasons each year for more than a decade with its Columbus Day Weekend Fall Festival. This year’s festivities are scheduled for October 12 and 13, and will take place at the Mount Sunapee Resort base area and Sunapee Lodge from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day.
 
Admission is free and complimentary activities include: face painting, hay-wagon rides, an inflatable obstacle course, caricature artists, Balloontik the balloon artist, live music and the popular Donut-on-a-string event for kids at 12:30 and 2:30 p.m. Featured activities that are charged on an a la carte basis include: pumpkin painting, aerial sky rides and Adventure Park features. Also returning this year on Saturday, Oct. 12, is the annual Run Into Winter 5k race and Duck Drop. Food and refreshments include roast pork and barbecue chicken, cornbread, side dishes and dessert plus beer and soft drinks.
 
Duck Drop
Northcape Design Build and Mount Sunapee Resort present the Third Annual Duck Drop from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, October 12. Chairlift riders win prizes as they drop rubber ducks toward targets the whole way up the mountain. All proceeds benefit the Boys and Girls Clubs of Central N.H.
 
Run Into Winter 5k
A challenging and fun-filled trail run takes place along Mount Sunapee Resort’s hiking and ski trails on Saturday, October 12. Prizes will be awarded by age group and overall for the fastest finishers. Online registration is available. Race-day registration starts at 8:45 in Mount Sunapee’s Hearthstone Room and the race starts at 10 a.m.
 
Mount Sunapee Adventure Park
The fun begins at South Peak with canopy zip-line tours, downhill mountain biking in the Mount Sunapee Bike Park, an aerial challenge course, championship disc golf, miniature golf, an airbag jump and climbing wall tower, 3-D archery, Beck Brook Mining Flume and interpretive hiking trails. At Mount Sunapee, there’s fun, excitement and challenge for the whole family.
 
Aerial Sky Rides
No visit to Mount Sunapee is complete without an aerial sky ride to enjoy the breathtaking summit scenery and view of the lake below. The Sunapee Express chairlift provides the high-flying ride to the summit where visitors can linger as long as they’d like and take the return trip down. Aerial Sky Rides are available from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. starting June 22.
