Lake Tahoe’s Heavenly Mountain Resort, Northstar California Resort, and Kirkwood Mountain Resort are slated to receive significant snow from the latest early season storm hitting the Sierra up to two feet is expected at 8,000 feet.  Regional temperatures are forecasted to be well below average– offering ideal conditions to power up the guns at all three locations. Temperatures are expected to remain cold throughout the extended forecast period.

Temperatures are expected to remain cold throughout the extended forecast period. 

The Best of Tahoe resorts: Heavenly Mountain Resort, Northstar California Resort and Kirkwood Mountain Resort are accepting applications for the upcoming winter 2015-16 season in addition to hosting job fairs on-site at each of the three mountains. The resorts are in search of brave, passionate, ambitious employees to fill a variety of full-time and part-time positions at any of the only three resorts in departments including food and beverage, mountain operations, retail, rentals, ticket and pass sales, and more. New this season, Vail Resorts will also hire 16 and 17 year olds for jobs as cashiers, Ski and Snowboard School teachers’ assistants, guest services representatives, parking attendants, cleaning attendants, ticket sales, scanning and more. 

A strong El Niño is here, according to NOAA, and all forecasts indicate it will continue through to spring. This means skiers and riders should prepare now by securing everything needed for a winter of epic powder days, including Lake Tahoe’s most valuable season pass, the Tahoe Local Pass, as well as the best deals on lodging and ski and snowboard school programs. 

On Saturday, September 19, more than 400 employees from Heavenly Mountain Resort, Northstar California Resort and Kirkwood Mountain Resort gathered to breathe new life into the North and South Lake Tahoe Boys & Girls Club locations, as well as help with various trail maintenance projects on Sawtooth Trail and throughout the Martis Valley in partnership with the Truckee Trails Foundation. These volunteers represent a portion of 2,000 Vail Resorts employees giving back to their communities as part of Vail Resorts’ annual EpicPromise Day.

With the 2015-16 ski and ride season less than 100 days away, September 7, 2015, is the last day to purchase a season pass to the Best of Tahoe resorts, Heavenly Mountain Resort, Northstar California Resort and Kirkwood Mountain Resort, at the guaranteed lowest price. Providing access to Lake Tahoe’s most terrain and most reliable snow surface conditions, the Best of Tahoe resorts continue to offer the region’s most valuable season pass options. 

The 2015-2016 ski and ride season is not over at Lake Tahoe. Heavenly Mountain Resort, Northstar California and Kirkwood Mountain Resort received 10-28” of new snow this week, helping the resorts finish the last weeks of the 2015-2016 ski and ride season on a strong note and providing fun spring skiing conditions for guests.  

The Best of Tahoe resorts, Heavenly Mountain Resort, Northstar California and Kirkwood Mountain Resort, will  again offer the region’s most valuable season pass options for winter 2015-16. Not only will they offer access to Lake Tahoe’s most terrain and best conditions with fewer restrictions than other resorts’ season pass options, but new this season the Tahoe Local Pass will offer additional ski and ride days in Colorado and Utah.  Starting at $429 with as little as $49 down with the balance due in the fall, skiers and riders have until April 12 to secure the best available rates and value for winter 2015-16 season passes with six discounted buddy tickets.
