Vail Resorts Introduces Emma, Your Epic Mountain Assistant, the World’s First Digital Mountain Assistant to Provide Real-Time Information to Skiers and Snowboarders

Vail Resorts, Inc. (NYSE: MTN) today introduced Emma, your Epic Mountain Assistant, the world’s first digital mountain assistant to help guide guests while on their ski and snowboard vacation at nine of the Company’s resorts. Emma is an interactive mountain assistant who uses artificial intelligence (AI) and natural language processing (NLP) to answer a wide range of guests’ questions about their ski vacation. Emma will debut for the 2018-19 winter season at Vail, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge and Keystone in Colorado; Park City in Utah; Heavenly, Northstar and Kirkwood in Tahoe; and Whistler Blackcomb in British Columbia, Canada.

Hakuba Valley, Japan Is Now Epic

Vail Resorts, Inc. (NYSE: MTN) today announced a long-term alliance with one of Japan’s largest and most renowned mountain resort regions —Hakuba Valley, located in the northern part of the Nagano Prefecture at the base of Japan’s Northern Alps and host to the 1998 Olympic Winter Games. Beginning with the 2018-19 season, the Epic Pass, Epic Local Pass and Epic Australia Pass will offer five consecutive complimentary days with no blackout dates at the nine ski resorts that comprise Hakuba Valley. It brings the Epic Pass total to 55 mountain resorts in eight countries, significantly more than any other season pass in the world.

In celebration of the 10th anniversary of the Epic Pass, 2018, Vail Resorts is honoring the epic service of the Company’s founders and men and women of the U.S. Armed Forces, Canadian Armed Forces and Australian Defence Force, with the introduction of a special new USD$99 Military Epic Pass. Also, for every 2018-19 Vail Resorts season pass sold, the Company will donate USD$1 to Wounded Warrior Project®. Based on 2017-18 pass sales, the donation would exceed USD$750,000.

Vail Resorts Partners with 92 Groups to Help with Critical Community Issues

The Best of Tahoe Resorts, Heavenly Mountain, Northstar California and Kirkwood Mountain Resorts, granted cash and product donations to 92 nonprofits from South Lake Tahoe, Meyers, Jackson, Stateline, Minden, Gardnerville and Carson City as well as organizations from Truckee, Tahoe City, King’s Beach and Incline Village. The EpicPromise grant announcements were made at community events held at Zalanta in South Lake Tahoe and the Alpine Club in the Village at Northstar in mid-December.

Last Chance to Ski the Best of Tahoe and Whistler Blackcomb with an Epic Local Pass is Sunday, Nov. 19.

Ski and snowboard season is just around the corner at Lake Tahoe and the last chance to purchase a 2017-2018 season pass for the Best of Tahoe Resorts, as well as Whistler Blackcomb, is Sunday, Nov. 19. Heavenly Mountain and Northstar California Resorts began snowmaking earlier this month in advance of opening day slated for Friday, Nov. 17 at Heavenly and Northstar and Wednesday, Nov. 22 at Kirkwood. This announcement comes after receiving more than 700 inches of snow during the 2016-2017 winter season – the most snowfall on record for more than two decades.
