Provides Unprecedented Flexibility and Season Pass Discounts to Guests Skiing as Little as One Day
BROOMFIELD, Colo. – Mar. 5, 2019 – Eleven years ago, the Epic Pass transformed the ski industry by offering guests unlimited skiing at the best resorts in the world, for a previously unheard of low price, making skiing and riding more accessible and affordable. Today, with the introduction of “Epic for Everyone,” Vail Resorts continues that history of innovation by offering the same incredible flexibility and value to all skiers and riders, whether they want to ski or ride just one day – or every day – of the season.
As part of Epic for Everyone, Vail Resorts announced today the introduction of the new Epic Day Pass, a customizable pass for those skiers and riders who may not need the unlimited skiing offered by traditional season passes. Guests can create their own pass by selecting the number of days they plan to ski or ride – from one day to seven days – and whether or not to add holiday access. Guests can use their customized Epic Day Pass anytime throughout the season at any of the Company’s North American owned resorts, including Heavenly, Northstar, and Kirkwood near Lake Tahoe, in addition to Vail, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge, Whistler Blackcomb, Park City, and more. Those purchasing four or more days will also get access to Telluride, Sun Valley, Snowbasin, and Resorts of the Canadian Rockies.
With the Epic Day Pass, guests can ski world-class resorts for an unmatched price. Offering a discount of up to 50 percent off of lift ticket window prices, the Epic Day Pass starts as low as $106 for one day of skiing at any of the Company’s North American resorts. Guests can also lower their cost per day by adding more days and can lock in the lowest prices by purchasing this spring.
“With Epic for Everyone, we are excited to provide all of our guests with the value, flexibility and convenience that come with being a pass holder,” said Kirsten Lynch, chief marketing officer of Vail Resorts. “The launch of the Epic Day Pass transforms both season pass and lift ticket pricing and allows our guests to decide where, when and how frequently they want to ski or ride, which is exactly what made our Epic Pass so popular when we first introduced it over a decade ago.”
For guests looking to ski more days in a season, the Epic Pass, the Epic Local Pass, Tahoe Local Pass and the Tahoe Value Pass continue to offer the best value and variety for unlimited skiing and riding. Launching at $939 for the 2019-20 winter season, the Epic Pass provides unlimited, unrestricted access to all of the Company’s owned resorts, including Heavenly, Northstar and Kirkwood, and additional access to partner resorts around the world. For skiers and riders willing to navigate around a few peak dates, the Epic Local Pass starts at only $699 and offers an incredible value with access to many of the same destinations, including unlimited access to Heavenly, Northstar and Kirkwood, with holiday restrictions.
The Tahoe Local Pass, at $589 for adults, features unlimited access to Heavenly, Northstar, and Kirkwood, with limited holiday restrictions, and a combined total of five days at Vail, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge, Keystone, Park City and, new for the 2019-20 season, Crested Butte, with limited holiday restrictions. The Tahoe Value Pass, at $499 for adults, features unlimited access to Heavenly, with holiday restrictions, and limited access to Northstar and Kirkwood, with holiday restrictions and Saturdays excluded.
Vail Resorts continues to honor the epic service of the Company’s founders from the 10th Mountain Division, and men and women of the U.S. Armed Forces, Canadian Armed Forces and Australian Defence Force, by extending the Military Epic Pass program into the 2019-20 season. Priced at USD$129 for Active and Retired Military and their dependents, and $529 for Veteran Military and their dependents, the Military Epic Pass will be available in spring 2019 when all Epic Pass products are back on sale for the 2019-20 season.
Because Epic is for everyone, guests can bring their same-day lift ticket to a season pass office at any of the Vail Resorts owned mountains and put the value of the ticket towards an eligible season pass product including Epic Pass, Epic Local Pass, Tahoe Local Pass, Tahoe Value Pass and Epic Day Pass with four or more days. Guests can visit www.epicpass.com for more details on this offer and other incentives. Purchasing a 2019-20 Season Pass in the spring ensures that skiers and snowboarders will lock in the lowest price, combined with the best benefits, such as 16 total benefit tickets for friends and family to use: Ten “Buddy” tickets at a flat discounted rate for friends and family to use and six “Ski With A Friend” discounted tickets are offered with eligible season passes. For a limited time only, a $49 down payment now guarantees the lowest price and best benefits for Epic, Epic Local and Epic Day Pass products with the remainder due in the fall.
After record-breaking snowfall in the 2018-19 season, Heavenly, Northstar and Kirkwood each announced plans to extend the 2018-19 ski and snowboard season with a special extended season terrain offering. Heavenly plans to extend the season through April 28, with a bonus 3-day-weekend on May 3-5; Northstar plans to extend the season through April 21; and Kirkwood plans to extend the season through April 14 with a bonus 3-day-weekend, April 19-2.
