Crested Butte Mountain Resort opens signature extreme terrain ahead of holiday weekend
Following more than 12 inches of snowfall over the last week, Crested Butte Mountain Resort will open signature extreme terrain today, accessed via The North Face Lift and High Lift.

New for the 2019-20 Winter Season, Crested Butte Mountain Resort to Celebrate Opening Day and Community Giving on Wednesday, Nov. 27
Snowmaking is officially underway at Crested Butte Mountain Resort (CBMR) and that means that opening day is just around the corner on Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2019. This year the resort will combine the first day of the winter season with the spirit of the former Donation Day for a new Opening Day Community Giving Celebration, a tradition that will continue annually. This year’s Community Giving Celebration will benefit the local Crested Butte Snowsports Foundation (CBSF), and Vail Resorts’ EpicPromise will match donations to contribute up to an additional $10,000 to the local organization.

Vail Resorts Announces Mountain Division Leadership Changes
Vail Resorts today announced that Executive Vice President Chris Jarnot will step down from his role, following an impressive 34-year career with Vail Resorts. With Jarnot’s transition, and in anticipation of the closing of the Peak Resorts acquisition, the Company has announced the creation of three new regional leadership roles to support Vail Resorts’ growing global portfolio.

Final Record of Decision Published for Teocalli Drainage Expansion Project
The U.S. Forest Service has posted a final record of decision regarding Crested Butte Mountain Resort’s (CBMR) proposal in accordance with the resort’s Teocalli Drainage Expansion Project. The Expansion Project was submitted in July 2015 and has undergone a comprehensive environmental review.

Crested Butte’s Evolution Bike Park Rebranded to Crested Butte Mountain Bike Park
In summer 2019, Crested Butte Mountain Resort (CBMR) will debut the Crested Butte Mountain Bike Park, formerly the Evolution Bike Park. The Bike Park is scheduled to open for the season on Saturday, June 8.

Crested Butte’s Teocalli Lift Replacement approved by U.S. Forest Service
The U.S. Forest Service has approved the replacement of the Teocalli Lift at Crested Butte Mountain Resort (CBMR). Beginning in early-May 2019, CBMR will begin removing the existing Teocalli Lift to replace and realign the lift for an improved on-mountain guest experience. The upgraded lift will debut in the 2019-20 winter season.
