BRECKENRIDGE, Colo. –Nov. 9, 2010– Breckenridge Ski Resort welcomes the 2010-11 season with a kick-off celebration this Friday, November 12, 2010 when the Colorado SuperChair, 5 Chair and Rip’s Ride lifts start running at 9:00 a.m., preceded by the BreckConnect Gondola at 8:00 a.m.

Skiers and Riders are invited to come early and celebrate at this year’s breakfast, featuring servings of the new signature menu offering, “BreckBerry French Toast” FREE to the first 1,000 skiers and riders starting at 8:30 a.m. at the NEW Ski Hill Gill at the base of Peak 8. Follow up breakfast with the first turns of the season on Peak 8 or spend the day in upper Park Lane. Visit www.breckenridge.com for terrain updates, snow reports, lodging deals, event details and more.

November 12th is also the Grand Opening Celebration for One Ski Hill Place, A RockResort, which brings the first true luxury experience to Breckenridge. This ski-in/ski-out property is located at the base of Peak 8 and has four chairlifts located out the back door, plus immediate access to town, as it sits right at the top of the BreckConnect Gondola.

Friday also marks the grand opening of the Breckenridge Gold Runner Coaster located at the base of Peak 8. Guests can attend the ribbon cutting at noon then ride single (or with a friend) down 2,500 feet of elevated track of hairpin curves and twists between ski runs.  Cost is $15 for a single ride.

Finally, Opening Day is the first day at Breckenridge where guests can take advantage of the revolutionary new EpicMix online and mobile application. EpicMix readers will start capturing guests’ lift rides on Friday so skiers and riders can track their days skied, vertical feet, earn digital pins for achievements on the mountain and more. EpicMix also allows guests to share their accomplishments via social networks like Facebook and Twitter. EpicMix staff will be on hand at the base of Peak 8 to answer questions on Opening Day.

The EpicMix website and mobile application will be launched between the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays. While guests will have to wait until the application goes live to activate their EpicMix account and review and share their accomplishments with family and friends, EpicMix will be capturing all of their lift rides from the beginning of the season. When they first access the application, EpicMix will be loaded with their total days skied and their cumulative vertical feet since the beginning of the season and any special commemorative pins already earned.

Meanwhile, the EpicMix website will feature a live running total of the cumulative vertical feet skied at each of Vail Resorts’ five resorts by everyone using a season pass or PEAKS lift ticket. To celebrate the launch of EpicMix, Vail Resorts will be giving an Epic Holiday Gift to one lucky guest selected at random on Dec. 29, 2010. The exact amount of this special gift will be set at $1 for each 30,000 of vertical feet skied by all skiers and riders across Vail, Breckenridge, Beaver Creek, Keystone and Heavenly mountains, from the opening of each resort to the day the EpicMix application goes live, up to a maximum of $100,000. Skiers and snowboarders will automatically be entered into the drawing when they activate their EpicMix account between when the application goes live and Dec. 28, 2010. For additional details and contest rules, visit www.epicmix.com.

Additional skier services will include ticket sales, rental operations and food service at Ski Hill Grill, at the base of Peak 8 as well as ticket sales at the BreckConnect Gondola.
