Beaver Creek Rodeo, Music Experience Concert Series, and Outdoor Yoga Provide Summer Fun for the Whole Family
Beaver Creek, Colo., June 1, 2016 – The Beaver Creek Rodeo Series, presented by The Westin Riverfront Resort & Spa, begins Thursday, June 23 for the 15th season. The Beaver Creek Rodeo will take place every Thursday night starting June 23 through Aug. 11, except for July 21. Beaver Creek Music Experience Concert Series, presented by Alpine Bank, captivates audiences with seven live shows on Wednesdays nights through Aug. 10. Enjoy free yoga and an electric, family-friendly music experience every Wednesday in and around Beaver Creek Village.
 
Saddle Up for the Beaver Creek Rodeo Series
Cowboy boots, hats and cheers will be in the air as this family-friendly summer tradition returns with exciting events, food, drinks, free pony rides and face painting for the kids. Events include Bareback and Saddle Bronc Riding, the kid-friendly Calf Scramble and Mutton Bustin’, Team Roping, Barrel Racing, audience participation? Burro Racing and the always exciting Bull Riding competition. Guests can enjoy luxuries even at the rodeo with an extensive bubbly and wine, refreshing margaritas, and cold local craft beer by Vail Brewing Company and 11 food vendors to choose from. Rodeo gates open at 5 p.m. each Thursday with The Grand Entry and National Anthem beginning at 6 p.m. Rodeo tickets can now be purchased  online one week prior to each event or by visiting the Beaver Creek Summer Adventure Center in Beaver Creek Village until 3 p.m. the day of the rodeo. Tickets may also be purchased at the rodeo beginning at 5 p.m. The rodeo takes place rain or shine, and tickets are non-refundable.

  • VIP*: $27 (youth, senior and adult)
  • General Admission: $22
  • Seniors (65+): $17
  • Youth (13-17): $12
  • Kids (12 & Under): Free
*VIP seating includes premium bull riding viewing, east-facing seats (facing away from the sun), upgraded restrooms and an additional bar location.
 
Pre-rodeo activities start at 5 p.m. and include pony rides, face painting, and bounce house, as well as kids’ event registration for Mutton Bustin’ and the Calf Scramble. Mutton Bustin’ is $25 per child and open to 15 participants weighing 50lbs or less and measuring 50 inches or less. The Calf Scramble is complimentary and open to 100 kids, ages 5-12. Burro Racing is open to anyone 18 or older and each rodeo allows three, three-person teams. Teams race to grab a burro and then must push, pull and ride it to one end of the arena and back. Burro Racing is $25 per team and registration is onsite. Audience participation events are provided on a first-come, first-served basis.
 
The Beaver Creek Rodeo Series is presented by The Westin Riverfront Resort & Spa, with additional support from Alpine Bank, The Steadman Clinic, East West Destination Hospitality, KSKE Ski Country Radio, the Town of Avon, and Slifer, Smith & Frampton Real Estate.
 
The Beaver Creek Rodeo grounds are located in Avon behind Chapel Square at Traer Creek.  Complimentary shuttle service to the rodeo is available through Beaver Creek’s Dial-a-Ride Service, from both Beaver Creek Village and The Westin Riverfront Resort & Spa. Complimentary parking is available directly across the street from the rodeo grounds, with a one-minute walk to the site. Alcoholic beverages, pets, and glass containers are not permitted on the rodeo grounds.

Beaver Creek Outdoor Yoga Series
Guests of all levels are invited to practice with certified instructors during the Beaver Creek Outdoor Yoga series.  The unmatched scenic backdrop of Beaver Creek Mountain offers the ultimate setting for finding balance and meditative rejuvenation.  Classes are held each Wednesday, June 29 through August 10, from 4:30 – 5:30 p.m. in Centennial Park, at the base of the Buckaroo Gondola and are complimentary. Some mats will be available for use; bringing your own mat, water bottle and sunscreen is encouraged. If in the case of inclement weather, the class will be held inside at The Club at Allegria Spa and a maximum of 20 persons can be accommodated, so arriving early is recommended.
 
 Music Experience Concert Series
Concert guests experience American Roots Music with a Rocky Mountain backdrop each week at the Beaver Creek Music Experience. Guests are invited to bring lawn chairs and picnic blankets to relax on the lush lawn Beaver Creek’s picturesque Creekside Park, located just below the main village. All shows go from 6:00pm to 7:15pm, and are complimentary, family-friendly and lend space for the audience and the performer to interact. Food and beverages will be available for purchase.
 
June 29: Vail Valley Band
  • The Vail Valley band is one of Colorado's best variety bands. With a repertoire that includes everything from pop, classic rock, country, jazz, originals and even Broadway show tunes, this versatile high energy band will have everyone up on their feet.
July 6: Motherfolk
  • Motherfolk started as Nathan Dickerson and Bobby Paver - the two college friends had both been writing songs, and when they brought them to each other, it became apparent that the themes lined up. Jacob Bremer and Rich Miller then joined the band, completing the roster needed to perform live. Motherfolk presents an upbeat musical fusion of indie rock and folk. Their charismatic stage presence and catchy vocal melodies draw the crowd in to feel the band’s raw emotion.
July 13: Hazel Miller
  • The stunning, powerful and moving voice of blues, jazz, pop and Gospel returns to Beaver Creek. Miller rose to the top of the music scene in Louisville, Kentucky and has taken Colorado by storm with 5280 Magazine readers making her their choice for Best Band in 2010.
July 20: Rob Drabkin
  • Denver native Rob Drabkin’s powerful vocals and beautiful guitar work make for a relaxed rock performance. The music of Rob Drabkin is spirited in nature, light from the heart and rocking on the six-string acoustic. Original compositions such as Stay (The Morning Light Fades) are serenading, soft and melodic.
July 27: Tizer Trio
  • “Jazz Group of the Year” nominee Tizer Trio will make their anticipated return appearance to Beaver Creek. The acclaimed world, jazz, fusion powerhouse group features an all-star lineup of musicians.  Led by Boulder native pianist, keyboardist, composer and former “Best New Jazz Artist” nominee, Lao Tizer, the trio also features bass legend and 3x Grammy nominee, Ric Fierabracci and Chicago born drum phenom, Gene Coye.
August 3: Coral Creek
  • Coral Creek dabbles in a diverse catalog of original music spanning the genres of rock, country/bluegrass, cajun, folk and island music. The band’s live performances transport audiences from the beaches of the Caribbean, down to the bayou and back up high into the Colorado Rockies – with instrumentation ranging from mandolin and fiddle to congas and steel pan.
August 10: Air Traffic Controller
  • Serving in the US Navy as an air traffic controller, singer/songwriter Dave Munro sent home demos written during deployment. The Boston-based group delivers fresh, upbeat indie alternative, performing at the 2015 Billboard Hot 100 Fest and earning them a spot on the NPR Hot 100 List for SXSW.
