16th Annual Oktoberfest ‘Rocks’ Beaver Creek Labor Day Weekend
BEAVER CREEK, Colo., Sept. 4 2015 – 2 full days of Bavarian fun are planned for this weekend in Beaver Creek to celebrate the 16th Annual Beaver Creek Oktoberfest. The celebration kicks-off on Saturday at 11 a.m. with a beer garden, authentic Bavarian food, Kids’ Fun Zone and live music from Trachtenkapelle out of Lech-Zurs, Austria. The event hosts live musical acts throughout the day, Bavarian costume contests and a 5K, 10K and Family Fun 1K race on Sunday. The event is free to enter and will be a foot stompin’ oom-pah-pah musical good time. 
 
This year’s live music features Trachtenkapelle from Beaver Creek’s sister city of Lech-Zürs, Austria, the Helmut Fricker Band, the rock and roll sounds of Journey Unauthorized on Saturday from 4:30 to 6 p.m. and Bruce in the USA on Sunday from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Journey Unauthorized is the #1 Journey tribute band in America known for their attention to detail, specialized musicians and performers and high energy sets. Don’t Stop Believin’ that you can have this year’s Oktoberfest Any Way You Want It. Bruce in the USA is the #1 tribute band to Bruce Springsteen and The E Street BandBruce in the USA is known to deliver powerful note-perfect and visually accurate performances to sold out shows. Beaver Creek guests were Born to Run to The River, and by river, we mean Beaver Creek.
 
The Kids’ Fun Zone will be open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the lawn at Centennial Park on Saturday and Sunday offering arts & crafts, and activities designed for kids 12 and under. The complimentary Culinary Demonstrations will showcase traditional Bavarian food from local chefs as well as Chef Werner all the way from Lecher Stube in Austria. Demonstrations are located in the Kitchen Pavilion Tent at 12 p.m., 1:30 p.m. and 3 p.m.
 
Don’t miss the Bavarian Costume contest that will take place on Saturday at 4 p.m. on the main stage. Guests can register from 12 to 3:30 p.m. that day in Beaver Creek Village and the Kids’ European Alpenhorn Contest registration will take place on Sunday from 12 to 3:30 p.m. in the village with the contest commencing at 4 p.m. in Centennial Park.
 
The Oktoberfest Shuffle presented by SmartWool on Sunday, Sept. 6 is a fun way to see the mountain and kick start the morning. The race begins at 10 a.m. and includes a 5K, 10K and Family Fun 1K option for all ages and ability levels. Race participants will receive a gift, bratwurst and beer or non-alcoholic drink. To pre-register for the event, visit www.beavercreek.com/oktoberfest. Pre-registration is $35 for adults and $40 the day of the race. The pre-registration for participants ages 13-18 is $25 and $30 the day of the race. Children 12 and under participate for free. All proceeds will benefit the Vail Valley Charitable Fund.
