Beaver Creek Hosts New German Auto Festival Sept. 12-13, 2014
Beaver Creek, Colo. – Aug. 21, 2014 – Beaver Creek’s new German Auto Festival provides car enthusiasts  with a weekend event  designed to celebrate the engineering, design, quality, history and exclusivity of the German automobiles from new and private car collections, while also experiencing the stunning fall foliage and the resort’s legendary attention to detail. Set among Beaver Creek’s intimate alpine village Sept. 12-13, 2014, attendees will enjoy scenic drives, the Wettbewerb der Eleganz (Concours d'Elegance) Car Show and other festivities on the plaza.  

On Friday, Sept. 12, a scenic driving tour on an iconic western Colorado road will take place from Beaver Creek to Aspen. Scenic drivers will arrive at the destination and enjoy an exclusive gourmet lunch, followed by a loop route returning to Beaver Creek.

Saturday’s events include the Wettbewerb der Eleganz (Concours d’ Elegance) car show and the Uber Auto Expo in Beaver Creek Village. The Wettbewerb der Eleganz  is a judged competitive car show that includes three classes: Display Class, Top Only Class and Full Concour Class.  An overall Grand Champion will be selected across all brands and awarded at the German American Chamber of Commerce's (GACC) “Service Center”, located on the Beaver Creek Ice Rink. The GACC Service Center will serve as the hub/ headquarters for event attendees to come together and listen to complimentary seminars geared toward auto enthusiasts, view German autos on display and enjoy food and beverage, available for purchase.  There will also be a silent auction benefitting the Arapahoe Community College’s Automotive Technology Program.

Guests will be able to participate in a variety of events and thoroughly enjoy these impressive automobiles throughout the weekend.”

A former six-year Chief Steward for the Porsche Club, Bob Barker has been named the director of competition and driving events for the German Auto Festival weekend. Barker, a Vail Valley local, will share his expertise in the luxury car industry and knowledge of the area.

Registration Options:
  • The Full Weekend registration is $95 and includes participation in the scenic driving tour from Beaver Creek to Aspen with a gourmet lunch on Friday, Sept. 12; registration for one car in the Wettbewerb der Eleganz with lunch on Saturday, Sept. 13; and $20 of the registration fee will be donated to the participant’s car club chapter. An optional  ‘Guest Registration’  lunch ticket is available for $55.
  • The Saturday Only registration is $55 and includes one entry into the Wettbewerb der Eleganz and lunch on Saturday, Sept. 13.  $15 of the registration fee will be donated to the paeticipant’s car club chapter.

Special Discount Registration Offer:
Refer friends or family to register a car in the Wettbewerb der Eleganz by Sept. 5, 2014 and if they use your name during registration, your registration fee will be refunded and your car club will still receive the $15 or $20 donation.

Beaver Creek’s German Auto Festival is set to become North America’s premier all-German auto festival and rally with support provided by The German American Chamber of Commerce (GACC).
