Vail Resorts Introduces Emma, Your Epic Mountain Assistant, the World’s First Digital Mountain Assistant to Provide Real-Time Information to Skiers and Snowboarders
Vail Resorts, Inc. (NYSE: MTN) today introduced Emma, your Epic Mountain Assistant, the world’s first digital mountain assistant to help guide guests while on their ski and snowboard vacation at nine of the Company’s resorts. Emma is an interactive mountain assistant who uses artificial intelligence (AI) and natural language processing (NLP) to answer a wide range of guests’ questions about their ski vacation. Emma will debut for the 2018-19 winter season at Vail, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge and Keystone in Colorado; Park City in Utah; Heavenly, Northstar and Kirkwood in Tahoe; and Whistler Blackcomb in British Columbia, Canada.

Vail Resorts continues to offer the best value in skiing and snowboarding for Colorado families with the combination of an Epic Local Pass for parents and the free Epic SchoolKids Colorado Pack for two children, kindergarten through fifth grade, for the 2018-19 winter season. The Epic SchoolKids Colorado Pack offers four free days of skiing and snowboarding each at Vail, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge and Keystone for a total of 16 days. With the purchase of two Epic Local adult passes at $669 each, a family of four can ski or snowboard up to 16 days at Colorado’s four premier resorts for just under $21 per person per day.

Hakuba Valley, Japan Is Now Epic
Vail Resorts, Inc. (NYSE: MTN) today announced a long-term alliance with one of Japan’s largest and most renowned mountain resort regions —Hakuba Valley, located in the northern part of the Nagano Prefecture at the base of Japan’s Northern Alps and host to the 1998 Olympic Winter Games. Beginning with the 2018-19 season, the Epic Pass, Epic Local Pass and Epic Australia Pass will offer five consecutive complimentary days with no blackout dates at the nine ski resorts that comprise Hakuba Valley. It brings the Epic Pass total to 55 mountain resorts in eight countries, significantly more than any other season pass in the world.

In celebration of the 10th anniversary of the Epic Pass, 2018, Vail Resorts is honoring the epic service of the Company’s founders and men and women of the U.S. Armed Forces, Canadian Armed Forces and Australian Defence Force, with the introduction of a special new USD$99 Military Epic Pass. Also, for every 2018-19 Vail Resorts season pass sold, the Company will donate USD$1 to Wounded Warrior Project®. Based on 2017-18 pass sales, the donation would exceed USD$750,000.

Beaver Creek Celebrates Grand Opening of Red Buffalo Park and Red Buffalo Express Lift (#5) on Friday, December 22
On Friday, December 22 at 9:15 a.m., Beaver Creek Resort will debut Red Buffalo Park, a family learning area located at the mountain’s highest elevation, 11,440 feet. At the heart of Red Buffalo Park, the new Red Buffalo Express Lift (#5), a high-speed quad, will debut to provide an increase in uphill capacity and a shorter, 4.3 minute ride to the top of the mountain. A Grand Opening celebration will commence at the base of Red Buffalo Express Lift (#5) on Friday at 9:15 a.m. with an official ribbon cutting, commemorative pins and Beaver Creek’s famed chocolate chip cookies. Beginning Friday, skiers and snowboarders will have access to 338 acres of terrain, including an additional 43 acres of terrain on Red Buffalo, Lower Booth Gardens, Lower Powell, and Grand Traverse trails in Red Buffalo Park.
