The Lodge at Vail, A RockResort Pool Has Undergone a Nearly $1 Million Renovation
VAIL, Colo. – July 25, 2013 – The first known pool built in Vail at Vail’s first hotel, The Lodge at Vail, A RockResort, has undergone a nearly $1 million renovation and has reopened with the nickname “Pool One” to honor its historical significance and proximity to Gondola One.

“This renovation marks the first of many exciting transformations to be made in Vail over the next 50 years,” said The Lodge at Vail General Manager Stephan Nicolas. “We are committed to delivering the experience of a lifetime at The Lodge at Vail and are continually looking for opportunities to elevate the guest experience across our RockResorts family of luxury resorts.”

The renovation of The Lodge at Vail Pool One includes two large side-by-side, in-ground hot tubs with a gas fireplace between them; furnishings; stonework and landscaping; two additional gas fire pits; a sound system with the ability to cater music to guests’ needs; heating for year-round access; and a full-service bar and commercial kitchen.

Every Sunday The Lodge at Vail is hosting a free pool party open to the public from 3 – 6 p.m. featuring “farm to pool” cuisine with local ingredients freshly picked from the Vail Farmer’s Market that day. Chef Rudy Williams will change the menu weekly, and will pare menu items with beer crafted by Bonfire Brewery.

Last December and throughout the 2012-13 winter season, Vail celebrated its 50th anniversary with a calendar chock full of events and festivities, and received a momentous birthday present - Gondola One, a 10-passenger gondola with heated, cushioned seats and Wi-Fi access. Several other investments have been made throughout Vail over the past couple years as the resort community looks forward to the next 50 years.

In 2011 Elway’s Vail opened at The Lodge at Vail. Named for former Denver Bronco quarterback and NFL Hall of Fame Inductee John Elway, Elway’s Vail is the restaurant’s first location outside of Denver and the third location in the collection.
