Vail Resorts Announces North American Summer Operating Plans and Commitment to Employee and Guest Safety

Vail Resorts announced summer opening dates and operating plans at its North American resorts as well as the Company’s commitment to safety amid the COVID-19 pandemic. The first set of resorts will open June 26, including Keystone, Crested Butte, Okemo and Mount Snow. Additional resorts are scheduled to open shortly thereafter, including Whistler Blackcomb (June 29, subject to provincial alignment), Vail and Beaver Creek (July 1), Park City (July 2); Heavenly (July 3); and Breckenridge (July 4).

Vail Resorts CEO to Donate $11.7 Million from SARs Exercise; Announces Grants to Support COVID-19 Efforts, Racial Justice Reform and Youth Access

Vail Resorts, Inc. announced that Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Rob Katz has exercised stock appreciation rights (SARs), that were set to expire in 2021, and will be making a charitable donation of 100 percent of the proceeds received. Based on the market price on the date of exercise of $194.74 per share, the donation is equal to approximately $11.7 million.

Vail Resorts announced today that all of its North American resorts and retail stores will remain closed for the 2019-20 winter ski season amidst the continued challenges associated with the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19). The decision follows the Company’s previously announced closure of its resorts from Sunday, March 15 through Sunday, March 22. The Company will consider reopening Breckenridge Ski Resort in Colorado, Heavenly Mountain Resort in Lake Tahoe and Whistler Blackcomb in British Columbia in late April/early May, dependent on the situation with COVID-19 as well as weather conditions.
