VAIL, Colo.—Oct. 20, 2010—Vail Mountain and its event production partners, Highline Sports & Entertainment, announced today the lineup for Vail Snow Daze 2010, the resort’s annual bash to kick off the winter season, will include free, headline concerts from Weezer, O.A.R. and Dwight Yoakam. Additionally, Mix Master Mike of the Beastie Boys will take the lead at Rolling Stone Magazine’s Club Vail Street Party. Vail Snow Daze takes place Dec. 6-12, 2010.

“We’re thrilled to offer an another unparalleled lineup of complimentary entertainment at Vail Snow Daze this year,” said Adam Sutner, director of marketing for Vail Mountain. “We value our guests’ business and work hard to continue to win it back year after year. With this comes our commitment to first-rate entertainment for all of our guests as part of the experience they’ve come to expect from Vail.”

Mix Master Mike will kick off the live entertainment at Vail Snow Daze by playing a new event and venue, Rolling Stone Magazine’s Club Vail Street Party, on Thursday, Dec. 9 following the Dummy Demolition Derby under the lights on Golden Peak. Rolling Stone Magazine’s Club Vail Street Party will transform the plaza at Solaris and will feature an outdoor dance club atmosphere. Mix Master Mike’s most high profile work has been with hip-hop group The Beastie Boys, acting as their resident DJ and contributing to their albums Hello Nasty and To The 5 Boroughs. Known for heavy-hitting bass and intricate scratch routines, Mix Master Mike is certain to keep the crowd rocking well into the night.

Once cited by Johnny Cash as his favorite country singer, Dwight Yoakam will headline the Vail Village concert on Friday, Dec. 10. A star of both music and film, few entertainers have attained the iconic status that Yoakam has. A two-time Grammy award winner, Yoakam has sold more than 25 million albums worldwide in his nearly 25-year-long career. Yoakam is known for delivering live shows that appeal to everyone from the alternative and indie rock listeners at Coachella, which he played to much acclaim in 2008, to the country music diehards at Stagecoach: California’s Country Music Festival. His performances constantly draw top reviews from critics, and his concert in Vail is sure to be an unforgettable experience.

Bud Light brings the platinum-selling rock group O.A.R. back to Vail on Saturday, Dec. 11 for a headlining concert in Ford Park. The band closed Spring Back to Vail, Vail’s yearly end of season festival, two years ago in Vail Village and was a massive hit. Because of the overwhelming turnout for that show and the fact that O.A.R. packed the house at Red Rocks this past July, the festival’s producers have decided to have the O.A.R. concert in Ford Park, as the venue can accommodate the larger audiences the band is known to draw. O.A.R. gained fame without any formal marketing or advertising, but through word of mouth and Internet buzz about songs like “Crazy Game of Poker” and “Night Shift.”

Grammy-award-winning Weezer will close out Vail Snow Daze on Sunday, Dec. 12 with a headlining concert in Ford Park. The band has released eight studio albums in its nearly 20 year history and is best known for successful radio singles like “Buddy Holly,” “Undone - The Sweater Song,” “Island in the Sun,” “Beverly Hills" and “Say It Ain't So.” Weezer’s live show is energy packed and has been touted by some critics as one of the most fun shows on the tour circuit today. Their particular brand of nerd-rock always shines through on stage, with plenty of wacky on-stage antics and well-known songs to keep the audience warm even when the temperatures drop.

“This is possibly the most powerful lineup for Vail Snow Daze to date,” said James Deighan of Highline Sports and Entertainment, the festival’s producer. “We’re very proud to be able to bring such world-renowned acts to Vail for Snow Daze. This festival has become something that no one else in the ski industry can match anywhere in the world.”

The lineup of fun for Vail Snow Daze will also include the return of the Dummy Demolition Derby under the lights on Golden Peak on Thursday, Dec. 9; a sponsor expo village, gear demos at Demo Daze and the Reverb IZSTLYE lounge at the base of the Vista Bahn Dec. 10-12 as well as après and after-dark parties in the Town of Vail.
